Well, it's looking like most of you think my fish hook up qualifies as a "catch". I have to agree, and that means I caught my first surfcasting fish with a lure that I designed and made. It's so cool that I actually caught the milestone on video, even if it was not exactly an epic fish. Coming up next week I'm redesigning these steel tube lures, " Reef Rockets", so that they are easier to make, more durable, and have a more erratic action. Now to decide which one of your classic lure suggestion to make....Thank you everyone.

It doesn't really matter that's why it's called fishing and not catching fish

Kentucky it's just a fish, it also depends if you live in close proximity to the beach then you need to go down again and properly catch a fish Mr engineered lure smith 😂😂😂 But great channel you helped me perfect my top water lures with your breakdown on buoyancy. Keep it up. Why don't you make a swim-bait using only hand tools no power tools.

Great video, as always! The lures (topwater) I'm fond of are the older Zara Spook Baby Spooks, not the newer ones. The Baby Zara's were a larger diameter head and small diameter tail sections, but had great action. I look for them on like because they aren't made anymore, so it would be of great interest if I could find a way to replicate them. Thanks so much! Mike from Cincinnati

Can you do an in-depth video on your holding devices ie the lure bows/holders ect ect Yes you’ve highlighted them in the past ? But it would be good to see close up how you made/improved your lure bows, how they work on different lengths of lures. Then... how they attach to your turner as in how to stop them falling about/out. Other things like your spray gun holders ? If you’ve made them or brought them, and your cleaning station ect ect In general..... your set up from start to finish 👍👍😎😎🇬🇧🇬🇧. The reason I’m asking as I’m just starting to “build my whole set up/bench” so it’s good to see what I need to build an ideas on where to set up my spray area/cleaning station/bench layout. I’m looking at this vid an your lure holder/bow is different 😂😂😎😎👍👍
@EngineeredAngler
@EngineeredAngler 3 года назад
I use several types of holders...it depends on the size and shape of the lure. I am planning to make a video on the Lure Bow...soon. You should check out the videos I have done on holding lures. Here's a playlist of videos on lure tools: ru-vid.com/group/PLEVBv_zywucSwg24p4XiVpkKmK3r07G_I

First, definitely a catch. We call those professional releases. Loved the latest build! Gotta lo e the classics. How about a darter? It's a classic surf plug with wicked action. I'd love to see your scientific approach to the angled head as well as weighting. And in all honesty,, I'm hoping you can simply, or make sense of it for me...

Hi, I have been watching several videos from you Franco and I would like to thank you because are really good and you show a lot of passion in it I have a couple of questions about lures First, about propeller lures, could be possible to have more information about how to increase the propeller noise (because that attracts the huge ones) by working with the shape of the lure (made by wood). The model that you did, it will work in that pod but in the Amazonian river won't. I have been watching the high roller design.....so I just would like to hear your opinion as an Engineer because we do have a different perspective and normally we can improve it. (this design is like a torpedo) The second one is related to popper lure, how to increase also the property to attract more. I saw the video about the Jetted Popper, and I do believe the entry hole should be higher than the original design (it is just an opinion). I have been working with the lower lip of the mouth given to the lure some other zig-zag movement ( as my command of course) The last one, it is about the wood that you recommend, in this latitude (Spain), we do have different kinds of wood Franco, Thx in advance, and keep on those educational videos with some engineering on that....they make a huge difference!!!
@EngineeredAngler
@EngineeredAngler Год назад
For more propeller noise it's best to use bigger propellers. Making a popper with a big pop is not too hard, it is best to keep the body relatively short and give it a big but shallow popper mouth. Use light wood, many people like hard wood but it is heavy and that makes it more difficult to stabilize. Good luck, cheers.

That counts as a fish caught. How about the original jitterbug, flat fish or the hula popper. There is another classic, I don’t know the name, that I was given as a young kid that looks like a young northern pike. It has the top of the nose carved out.

@EngineeredAngler
@EngineeredAngler Год назад
Wow that's what puts you off?...I don't make the beads or the eyes or the wire but it's worth it to me. Making lures is a matter of personal satisfaction. For some folks painting pre-made lure blanks is enough. Others want to do everything from design, carving, painting...etc. it's up to you...making propeller blades is not really hard to do...
