Looks great! I appreciate that you make stuff with various materials. Wood, metal, plastics, and stone all have their place.

I need to do something like this. Time to fire up the CNC. I think I have plenty of wood to make something nice. Also, I'd be remiss if I didn't comment on the beauty of that laptop. Adorned with all the finest accouterments in the Maker Community. ;-)

Nice Work! Looks much better than using a 1/4" cutter. Any chance you would share your Step Over and DOC?

Winston, great video! Any chance you can share the feeds and speeds you used for the bowl bit? Thanks

What were the feeds and speeds for the bowl bit you used?

That's a nice project! I would have personally just used Velcro.

Any chance you can post the fusion file or the details of the tool paths? I've made a number of bowls before using my X-Carve but I'd like to compare my technique to yours. I generally use adaptive pocketing but I don't do a finishing pass, so I'm mostly interested in those aspects. Thanks!

How do you stop your trays from warping days/weeks/months later?

Looking to buy my first cnc (shapeoko xxl). Your videos have been a great help. I am designing my enclosure and wanted to know if putting cnc on soft close drawer slides would cause any unforseen problems. Would like to put 3/4 plywood with bottom mount drawer slides for better access to machine. Thanks and keep the videos coming. They are a good guideline for us beginners

I don't think drawers would be a problem at all. Just need to make sure that vibrations and such wouldn't cause the drawers to open on their own (which I don't think would be an issue).

How do you get the rounding over of the tray sections at the last step? Not sure how to do that in CC? Or what bit to use? How do you program the ball nose in CC to do this? Or can you?

What is the carbide 3D project series you referred to at the beginning of the video?

Awesome video! What kind of double sided tape do you use? And how important is it to have completely flat surfaces? Thanks!
@WinstonMakes
@WinstonMakes 4 года назад
Nitto Permacel P-02 is my favorite, followed by 3M 410M, followed by Shur Tape double sided paper tape. Flat surfaces for super thin things like sheet metal is not a big deal as the tape will hold it flat. But for thick pieces of wood that are too strong to be pulled down flat, you're gonna have a bad time. Best to plane down the surface to be flat.

I cannot believe I am the only one who thinks you were warp-speed fast over the CAM part. I would have appreciated more detail on that. I want to do something similar and I just cannot put it together...

Why 2D pocketing and 2D contours for the finish passes?
@WinstonMakes
@WinstonMakes 4 года назад
Because they're easy, and the toolpath never has to do anything other than step straight down or move laterally unlike in the bowl example.

So yea....2 minutes in and my brain started smoking. Not dissuaded, I’m stubborn enough to keep at this to understand.
