oh, lydia! i just love it when adult us does something spectacularly wonderful to make child us happy. your judy dress is just gorgeous and really suits you! your use of the appliques for the collar was genius, and the whole dress moves and floats and sparkles just perfectly. thank you for taking us along on this fun journey!
First off, wow, wonderful job it looks amazing. 2. Your library is amazing. 3. Perfect location for your dance number. I also watch White Christmas every year and yes that pink dress was my childhood favourite.
Very nice! Such great work. I am still intimidated by chiffon, taffeta and satin, not to mention sequins and applique. I have been making my own clothes for 30+ years! Fantastic! I'm going to see what else you have to offer on you channel...
Wow Lydia! Absolutely stunning and amazing! I don’t think I even knew that about the library! How wonderful! Your videos absolutely spectacular! And the dress, I have no words!😅😅 AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVED YOUR GRAND FINALE! OH MY GOODNESS!!!! You just keep getting better and better! Way to go, Lydia!
I have to say, chiffon was 100% not as 'ack' to deal with as I thought. Organza is much more of a nightmare to work with. But that would be an awesome dress to make!
Just gorgeous !!! Your dress n your dancing... you did a wonderful job n now have given me ideas all over the place... you have started our new year off to a grand start !!! Thank you 😊
The University I went to has a set of stairs that goes up from the street to the campus level. It has a turn and a landing very similar to the place you started your reveal. It used to have, (and may still have), a sculpture on the landing called iirc The Dancer. She is making a twirl wearing a swishy skirt something like yours. You reminded me strongly of her, and I wondered for a moment if you were right there. But no, its not the same city. Anyway, you looked wonderful in that dress.
Oh Wow that came out so lovely and it moves so beautifully 😍 Also I may have let out a little squee of happy when I heard you finished it in time which I had to explain to my husband 😅😂
OK. I love White Christmas, and you nailed this dress. It is so evocative of the movie; the way the silhouette looks and the way the dress moves is perfect! ❤
Oh my goodness, that dress was my favorite as a child too! This makes my heart so happy.. you’re living my dream :) thanks for sharing this project with us, it turned out great! 💗💗
Love that movie. Vera Ellen is one of my all-time favorite musicals stars, her dancing was incredible. I love her outfits in White Christmas, esp. the one you made and the one she got engaged in (Love that whole skirt/sweater combo w/the big red belt-- that is an outfit I plan to make one day!!!)
Your dress is gorgeous! 🤩 And you doing your happy dance routine at the end are adorable! Good for you to fulfil your dreams. With my sewing machine I 'm starting a rolled hem by hand, fixing it with a few hand stitches, then' thread' it into the foot and off I go. I have to guide the fabric and especially slippery ones want to escape the rolling. Maybe this might work for you as well.
