During World War 2, the British government hired women to work in agriculture, performing jobs that men who had gone to war had done. In this video, I'll be recreating parts of the uniform from the Women's Land Army, based largely on an advertisement from the time. Although the real thing consisted of many more pieces, I'll be making the blouse, jodhpurs, and you'll see the finished sweater as well.
Fabrics and Patterns Used:
Blouse - Cotton lawn from Mood fabrics, self-drafted from a sloper pattern
Jodhpurs - Deadstock corduroy from Etsy, modified from the Keystone Jacket and Dress Cutter's breeches pattern (linked below)
Sweater - Worsted weight yarn that was probably 100% polyester from Michaels, pattern from Etsy linked below
