I also write lists when overwhelmed with how much I need to do. And I break each job down into steps, so if I get one step done at least it's progress even if I don't have time or inclination to finish the whole job. Love the basket.

Bless you for thinking of the elderly dogs in rescue, who get left to rot, because everyone wants young dogs. You are a true dog rescuer 🤜 If the rescue hasn't already told you - a really gentle way to desensitise Zucca to the new owners/foster/rescue is for the new people to come and visit you and go for a walk, several times, then you go to their home for a walk several times. Then leave him with them for half an hour and repeat over several days, extending the time. When you leave him, no emotions and don't give him any attention. Any issues - go back a step. ie the usual desensitisation process. This'll be where you find out if he has separation anxiety 😉

Those are great tips! It's not always possible to follow those steps since often the right adoption isn't close by ☹️ unfortunately those dogs don't have many requests so sometimes you have to trust that they'll be ok and send them off (which is really hard). Hopefully Zucca new family will be close by!

Excellent weaving , you made a great little plant holder and it looks lovely. May we suggest you wet the twigs before you bend them to do the final top edge, it is not only easier but that way you can avoid breaking some of them ( soaking the final product to make it more even and remember you cannot go wrong by wetting it because they are used to being wet in nature, just dunk them in a tub for a few hours, it’s ok)

My tip for making friends as an adult is to get involved in something local that interests you - perhaps start volunteering for a local charity or museum, or find a sports team, etc. The others there will have the same interest, so you've already got something in common...

@@WildSheGoes Oh yes! They took and each year I've been taking cuttings and making more rows. I've only harvested enough from the original 2 plants in 2 years to make a very small basket. But I learned how to make a basic market basket using fresh vines and soaked cat tail grass. Those are fun and practical. It’s basically two vine circles inside each other. Best workshop I even signed up for. I have saved and dried cat tail grass in my garden shed. Just waiting for some free time hahaha!

For the last question! If you have never lived in the countryside or in a van go away and try both for at least a month if you can. It would give you an idea of the lifestyle or save you money in the long run if you didn't enjoy it. Maybe try woofing or rent a van. I know of a couple who sold their house and all their possessions and bought a van. They tried living in the van (in the same county, didn't even get to a different county) and didn't enjoy it at all! So ended up moving back in with one of their parents and starting again.

I was listening to you talk about jellyfish, and how you are not overly fond of them - it reminded me of when I worked on ships and we'd be at anchor off Labadee, in Haiti. Early mornings I'd be at the shellgate door waiting for officials to arrive by boat, and you'd see these great big jellyfish come up near the surface by the door. It was like watching a dog running to great you. Splendid job on the bramble basket - have you ever tried making a chair?

When you say brambles, can you be more specific? We have an abundant supply of Himalayan blackberry here and it would be fun to use them for baskets. Also, your basket is beautiful. If you add a bail it would be awesome for gathering your vegetables, fruit and it would be great for mushroom gathering. It’s my understanding that you may have some boletes around in Italy.

Your basket is beautiful. If you experience splitting or breaking, try soaking your materials in water in advance. This softens them and gives you more ability to work with your materials. In addition, it’s very good for your baskets to put them in the shower and spray them down to remove dust and allow them to get moist again; it will make your baskets last a very long time. Your spider plant needs two things to grow more evenly and produce spiderettes. First, rotate the plant every 2-3 weeks to face the direction of the daytime sunlight. This helps it grow more evenly. Second, this plant needs a larger pot. I put a spider plant a friend had almost lost from neglect into a pot twice the size it was in and it exploded with new growth and lots of spiderettes (baby spider plants). Yours should do really well when you repot it, because it’s looks healthy otherwise.

Hi! I did soak the materials before hand otherwise I think they would have easily broken having been stored for a while. Great tip about the shower to remove dust, I didn't know! Thank you so much for the spider plant advice. I actually repotted it on a smaller pot after reading it would be better for it 😂 Silly me

Gardener here: I've found that some spider plants just never make pups. I had one for a while and it never made any in all the years i've had it. Yours looks like it could do with a repot though, which could help with the flopping over it's doing. As it grows and old leaves die, the stems get longer at the base and they become top heavy, so repotting them a bit deeper than before can provide them with the support they need to stay upright.

I know what you mean. When l saw Jasmine my Netherland dwarf rabbit, l knew she was the one. Her not so convinced, she sulked for 5 months because l took her away from her two hairy warm friends. But then we bonded. I miss her so much, she was my soulmate. I have looked at other rabbits but never felt that instant connection. I hope we both find our soul twin, because that love so pure and beautiful between a pet and the furry animal that owns them.

I am going through a process of getting diagnosed for ADHD, I don't really want to take any medication for it (I am nearly 40 and have two kids and a full time job that is steady) but feeling like I want to do lots of things all the time and feeling overwhelmed by the results of that and trying to manage those impulses. And genuinely feeling like I NEED to be in nature too. I never thought I could have ADHD because I misunderstood what ADHD is. But slowly slowly I am getting to understand myself better.

your spider plant leaves are long and pale. looks like it's not getting enough light. it needs more light to make little ones too. ... don't make the mistake i did. I put my plants in the sun and they got sun burned. just a little more light :) ( the ivy looks great in the basket )
