Making lures is definitely a labor of love!! That turned out fantastic and looks real!! I gotta say, a person with talent and experience makes it look much easier than it actually is. You are the 'Bob Villa' of the fishing industry for sure!! (Also, a confidential heads up to Jameson: the new social media person @ Grizzly is anti-NASCAR!!)
Did you see how they 🎨 painted the studio at Grizzly? Black ⚫️ 🧱 walls are a no-no...makes it seem dim. Plus they will have to be wiped down because the sawdust will show up more. Sheesh!
Crawlers are a tough build to begin with. The wings must be horizontally angled outward just so to for the "V", and they must be vertically angled correctly to dip in the water to cause the swimming action. The amount of flat surface that lure has laying on top of the water is pretty difficult to get moving back and forth as with the more traditional crawler body style. All in all, this was a great build and worth the watch. Don't give up on lure making!
Great video! The walking style surface lures are very popular here in Australia for Murray cod fishing! I recommend looking up some videos on surface fishing for Murray cod :) such a shame yours didn’t work too well but looks beautiful 👍

I wonder if you used it like a jerk bait, a dying fish makes sporadic movements not straight and fast in a line. Also maybe slightly smaller (2/3-3/4 size) could work. Love the lures you make. Keep up the great work.
I would love to make this in a narrower profile but with a joint and a smaller lip as you suggested to see the action. I bet it would be amazing. Can’t recall if I’ve ever seen a true bluegill profiled lure jerkbait before. They always have a streamlined look and detailed paint job rather than a true-to-form profile.
@@RiverbendWoodworks I don't think I have ever seen a bluegill jerk bait, yours would be the the first, and still jointed to give an action of a dying fish. I'm guessing you have been a fisherman all your life so I'm sure you understand what I'm trying to convey when a fish is dying while floating on its side and flops around every so often. Makes larger fish maybe attack, especially if it were above spawning grounds. I'm going to watch all your videos, they look amazing.
