Thanks for another great video. I've tried a few with the taper down (larger portion down) but trying to make more of a blade bait style where the wiggle is really aggressive on the up stroke instead of the fall. Didn't do much past the prototype stage but they're fun to mess with! I think the hardest part in design for me has been bill design and angle, for some reason I always have to brute force bill designs to get good action.

Thanks. You're right, billed crank baits are the most challenging to get just right. I'll be making a video to dispel some of the nonsense I have seen on the internet.

I think that a fish and a person can feel pretty much feel/touch the same. But neither see the same. The fish tactile surface feeds information into the fish subconscious, and a sort of grey scale 3D image is seen with-in the brains lower consciousness. I suspect that fish can distinguish between a smooth body from a rough body swimming near it thru this ability. Like humans, they then use their eyes to verify the impression. Now, if somebody could make sequins the size, shape, density of fish scales, you could then attach them over your lures. The micro-turbulence's they would generate would certainly register as a specific fish that the target enjoys eating the minute they recognize that specific surface turbulence. However, I'm not a fisherman, but I did enjoy all of your presentations, thank you. Lure design from scratch part one is my favorite one,--like number 41-- is my input...

Thanks for the thoughtful comment....I agree that fish are getting a lot of micro-information when they're hunting. It's up to us to come up with a way to mimic that.

@@EngineeredAngler Thank you for your kind words. It takes a special kind of empathy to see things from a fishes point of view. And you have that in spades. Your insights are helping many become even better fishermen.

Wooow! I've been wondering what i could study to understand all these forces mixing in to the lure action. I still wonder but finally you started your series. I am super hyped and really happy happy;) If you have any tips for what i can dig in to for a deeper understanding i would really apriciate it. I made a lure after looking at your long casting drag video ;) 1 trillion thx!!!!!

Love these vids! I build a lure called the flitterbait.... it’s shaped very similar to the one you used in your demo... now I’m thinking I need to try it upside down... might be on to some things

That's the beauty of knowing the principles behind what makes them work, you can use it's on everything you make.
