Making a Workshop Cabinet 

It's been a while since my last upload but I'm back and in the swing of things again. I needed to take a break and take it easy for a while. :)

I actually really appreciated that you left in that you made a mistake, the cabinet is gorgeous but knowing that people who have skills that you aspire to, can make mistakes still is actually reassuring.

Beautiful cabinet. Thank you for letting us see that a master like you can have mistakes and it's ok to have repairs. (Us newbies tend to be really hard on ourselves when we have repairs.)

What I like about this is that mistakes are made.. they're not hidden.. very honest and a fantastic build.

I have to say I particularly love your videos, especially the ones where you mess something up but then come right back to it with a fix and don't edit out the mistakes like some others do. If you ever get bored and go walkabout, come to Florida for a visit... it's similar to Australia with the heat and everything here trying to kill you.

That’s a handsome cabinet. I love seeing furniture makers make “shop” stuff because it’s so utility oriented and easy to build, but they always come out nice enough to put in your office save for the look of the materials. That saw stop panel attachment is really cool. I used to use a panel saw regularly and it’s a massive timesaver, but it was an enormous and expensive machine. This one looks to be perfect for average use.

I love all your videos. As I've said before I am unable to do much woodworking due to being disabled but I really do live my woodworking dreams through videos like this. Thank you so much from chilly West Sussex, UK.

I like the way you left the mistakes in. Excellent work. Possibly air displacement holes on the under side so bigger draws don't open the others when closing.

That tool cabinet looks absolutely gorgeous Neil. The fit of those drawers is a joy to watch, especially the way that one pushes the other out! I guess if this ever become a nuisance, you could drill a few small holes in the back panel of each drawer housing, to allow the air in/out when opening/closing them. I have to admit, I'm a little envious of the nice new extras that Sawstop have sent you for your table saw, it must be really nice to use :) I also wanted to say, thank you for showing us how you fixed some of the mistakes that you made, but more importantly, for including them... it proves that, as humans, we all make them occasionally. Sometimes people edit the mistakes out of their videos and it gives a false sense that they never make mistakes. I guess more accurately though, it just means that they'd prefer not to admit to making them!

Great build as usual. I enjoyed puzzling about why you weren't filling the accidental dados, then hearing that you held them back because you intended to make fake stop dados for the shelves using the same basic procedure.

Wife wants to build a built in entertainment center next year and this is teaching me a lot of great techniques.

First time I used a sliding table was a giant altendorf table saw, best saw I ever touched. Those tables are game changers

Awesome build! Compliments from a furniture man. Just a free tip: For this style of drawer, you could consider drilling some holes in the back panel behind the drawers. They will let the air in and out and make the drawers operate easier.

I love that you show your mistakes as the rest of us that are learning from you will for sure have our own set of issues. Showing that perfection isn't reality!

This video is basically a huuuuge table saw flex... I love it😂

Drilling a hinge hole where there's a shelf - trust me, we've all done that! Suggest some small 'ventilation holes' on the back of the cabinet to mitigate the vacuum that opens the opposite drawer. Having said that once they are full it probably won't be a problem; depends what's inside.

Luv the new saw! Painters masking tape on the face of your plugs to catch them when sawing. Bandsaw works great to. Your my favourite channel!

I love the new set up Neil, it looks amazing, I've been sharing some of your videos with my woodwork classes, as we're still in Lockdown here in Ireland it's not easy to teach Woodwork over the Computer, so you're excellent narration and explanations in your videos have helped me massively in showing students some woodwork and how the design process is done by top end professionals, one amazing part is when you highlight your mistakes, that's great for showing students how you need to be aware that everyone makes mistakes, it's just about learning from them. Excellent stuff as always, great to see you back.

I think the draw/label pulls are just the right size for those draws and make the cabinet finish perfect
