Making an Aluminum Catfish Stink Bait Mold 

Put some .125” in the fins with a hole punch plier type to hold more bait. Not much worm oil, bait slides of. Boy I wish I had a milling center. I operated a concert lath and programmer. I use the rubber tube they use on your arm to get blood, it has a great surface to hold triple sss bait . I do put holes up and down it. To hold bait. 250”&.125 holes work good, I’d love to buy your catfish dip tube. But they are a little too big for dip worms maybe .500” and 2.5 long. I love the deep grooves that I’ve been so desperately tying to find. Great job guys keep the inventing going and being creative. I was a tool and die guy for years. It's official... catfish like smelly stink bait on a dip tube! (Someone had to say it) 😄 That was a super fun video to watch! Especially the first segment watching you hand scribble, measure, erase, redo, then all of a sudden, "hey, that's starting to look pretty sharp!?!" And your commentary is great as we go through each phase and you explain the reasons why you do it that way. I really liked this design/prototype/build/pour/fish style of video, but as a former Voc-Tech teacher, that would make sense I suppose. I think just starting out you should just make whatever styles of video get you intrigued and go from there. You're going to be working out your video production style at the beginning anyway, so keep it fun for you on the design and build side. For now, it's kinda the "throw it all up on the wall and see what sticks" phase. You'll figure out how to tweak the subject and style choices as you go. This gets an A+ from me.

How about a hollow/tube shape, cross hatch pattern where the bait rests inside?The catfish bait is a great idea!👌🏻

I have found that hollow core worms/ frogs (etc) work well when you inject stinkbait into them. I use an old empty (cleaned) caulking tube filled (by spoon) with the stink bait and injected into the hollow bait. I found that a vent hole has to be made in the bait body so that you can fill it completely but that helps the water action wash the bait smell iinto the water and attracts the catfish.....

The Danny King punch bait is made for treble hook and punch it into bait and fibers hold to treble hook. They do make a catfish plastic mold and it has like a texture roller brush material implanted in it for catfish bait to adhere to, Catfish Connection has them on their site.

Tip for useing stink bait..when you put bait onto bait holder, dip it into cold water and let set up a bit before casting water. seems to help bait stay on hook longer..... just a thought. shredded cotten will also help bait to setup on hook longer..

Keitech swimbaits are ribbing done well. You should make some swimbaits with as tight of ribbing as your machines will cut. Maybe make it big to avoid plagiarism. Ribbing gives things a big profile while saving plastic and being super-collapsable.

Thays a cool idea, it might work abit better with gloves and kind of form it around it. Dip bait is ALWAYS messy lol, but the channel cat do love it.

Bro, I have to say that I am very impressed by you. You're a goofy dude for sure, as am I, but damn listening and watching you work is artful! We fish mostly for trout and I'm just getting started making soft plastics for my friends and I. Mini tubes are most popular and what I'm starting with. Molds for those are very hard to find. I'd love to see a 1.5" and 2" with spline for the tails so they don't have to be cut. Thanks for the insight to what goes into making a mold. Keep it up and enjoy that young family.

I saw a video where these two guys tried putting Pam (Butter) cooking spray on cut bait or rather they let the bluegill cut bait sit in a plastic container and they sprayed Pam on it. They also cut a thin cotton cloth 4x2 inches and sprayed it with butter Pam spray and was catching big Catfish with it. Maybe try it or try adding some water in your stink bait and thin it out and put say 6 pieces of the 4x2 cut cloth in it and let the cloth soak up the stink bait and try it. Awesome skill making that bait btw.

Try using blue nitrile gloves and using your hands to squish it in the grooves. Works when I try it.

Take some plastic gloves with you so you can squish the bait into the lure. In future try new stuff on a bit of waste plastic to see if stuff sticks to it. Love watching your process.ThankQ.TkEZ>UK

place some v-slots into rings on your bair holder, this allows the bait to have more area to ashere to....just a thought..

Try a shell pasta shaped one or something they hold sauce so I guess they'd hold punch bait. For the bait with the hair in it, I used to use trebles with a spring on the shank worked quite well.

Interesting concept.. we dont do anything like this in Australia. I'm thinking maybe a plastic bag to use as a glove to put the bait on the soft plastic so u can squeese it on there will be the way to do it..

Just seeing this today 24 dec. I think if a little softer plastic that the bait can go inside and hang on the outside might be the ticket.

great looking look, but have you thought of an injection bait ? something you could put the stinkbait into so that it holda onto the bait for a longer period of time. A caulking gun with a re-filled (with stinkbait) works very well to hold and inject the bait into the plastic bait holder (lure?)

I use something similar and there are some sticker baits. With the punch baits I just use a bare treble hook. Punch it in and pull it out that why it has the fiber. Great job I love the bait holder. I would buy the bait if somebody poured them.

That thing would be awesome if you made that in a glow in the dark I think it would work well on burbot

I tryed this with hollow plastic balls and injected stink bait into them, seemed to work at the time.

I saltwater for Stripe Bass one of my favorite biat is the Slug go 12 inch pre rigged, My only problem is had they use string to attach the hooks to one another. If I get hit by a bluefish they cut right threw the bait and the string and they are gone. Have you ever thought about making a mold where you can suspend a wire harness in the bait

warm the baits a little and they stick better, you don't need near that much bait on the hook, and i would bet the "hairs" you saw were cattail, used as a thickener.. i use nothing but dip baits and the river being up would be a plus for me, thats when they move into the shallow areas where water hasn't been. i would go thru several dozen of your tubes in a short time for sure, they would be perfect for circle hooks.

What about get some friends together have each design something then have a tourney.

how about a tube bait that allows someone to inject catfish stink bait into it?? keeps the bait in an area that allows slow release into water, attracts the fish....Just a thought..

Why don't you make a aluminum egg mould. That you hinge. Then fill both half of the mould with the attractent. Then place your lure in. Close the mould, forcing the attractent into your lure. Open revealing the lure coated in attractant.
