I have a question for you Martin Leib, how did you learn music theory? was it self thought or did you go to school? People say you don’t need music theory to produce but I feel like it’s impossible to start making melodies without knowing it.

Yea I watched a 30 minute vid and then literally just got better with it thru practice. Just try to watch a vid on it once or twice to make sure you got the fundamentals and then just make beats. Try to apply music theory as much as you can and you will get used to it

you can buy books or learn an instrument but yt tuts are probs the easiest way

hey brother! I barely know any theory actually. Been making music for six years. After a while you start learning the relationship between notes. You learn which intervals work. If you have a note here, you know that two notes up will work, and stuff like that :) It’s all about practice and ear!
