This is really impressive for a student to observe, it’s so common for learners to fixate on the lights or the parked car, I’m sure this student will be a great driver when they pass!
He did great holding and driving trucks back in the 1960s I was taught to hang back while descending hills, so that trucks struggling to climb the hill and pass parked cars could do it without stopping. But to hold back now would have the gap filled by a boy racer or a Range Rover.
Just around the corner from where I live. It's annoying people parking on the double yellow lines along that road. As there is a car park directly opposite those shops.
No wonder driving in the UK is such a nightmare. Those roads were never designed for two way car traffic. The country should be looking at the Japanese Kei cars instead of the usual size.
The road is actually big enough. That senior people just on the right of the Volvo owns that Volvo. And being at their age (no disrespect), probably skipped the thought of how their parking is a huge inconvenience to everyone.
