I love this! You are so smart in how you set it up too. Also a tip from the aquarium hobby, tie the cord into a “drip loop”, or attach a zip tie, elastic band, whatever. If the lowest part of the cord is in a loop, any water will drip down to the floor rather than travel along to the outlet.
Hi Kaitlyn! Happy anniversary🎉Thanks for such an inspiration! It looks very peaceful and calming...As for my experience, I only tried semi-hydro setup a few times and I was happy with the result (not without losing a few plants, of course). Question..You mentioned that the water in the fountain is distilled. So, there are no nutrients. May I ask how you are going to fertilize the plant? I was thinking of soaking it in fertilizing solution overnight, maybe? Or probably just spraying the leaves with the diluted fertilizer? Thanks! Hope you're having a great day!
the carnivorous plant bog would be a great idea! been thinking about getting some for ages now, but the chronic lower-than-I'd-like humidity in my apartment is keeping me from it
Absolutely awesome!! 🤩Really well balanced composition. The secondary small plants really glue things together. The good thing with the fountain being seperate is that you can scale it later. Maybe you can have a bit of a moss patch somwhow for the water to fall onto. Maybe that could also help with the sound. Really cool project 🫶
Oh I love that idea about the moss patch!🌿✨ And yes we think alike with the scaling- this should be relatively easy to size up eventually 😊 I’m so glad you think it’s cool 🥰 thanks so much for watching I hope you’re having a lovely week 💜🌱✨💕
Just found your channel this month and I've learned so much from you already!!!! 🌿💕 I was watching some videos where you were having issues with spider mites. Have you tried a foliar spray with silicon? Plants by Melissa has said it's made a huge difference with her spider mites.
Loved it, such a cute idea. This would be great as a housewarming gift too😉. This would great to raise humidity in a plant room too. I’m a former Pomeranian dog mom. All 3 have gone to the Bridge at 17.5, 15 years and 13 years😞. Can’t wait to get another one after seeing your adorable furbaby, my husband always wants to get me one🐶. TFS. Happy Anniversary . We have a pondless waterfall from Aquascape in the backyard, and you’re right, the sound is so relaxing after a long day.
I think is so relaxing hearing the water fountain but more for outdoor as i don’t think i would listen to it all day. That hack is good to not to hear it so loud if using one indoors. Is always nice doing little projects. I love to do a mini pond for indoors with water plants without and some sort of fish that can live in without needing heat and oxygen. I think having water plants gives a bit of oxygen. I also want to do a glass bowl with cacti or succulent arrangements but haven’t found the ones i want to add into the bowl yet. Also something that can tolerate low light throughout the year thriving. Happy Anniversary. You really do love purple 😊i am not into colourful things more of a neutral colour gal.
I’m sure you could add a little fertilizer. These kind of pumps are used in fish tanks a lot and are fine with fertilizer added for the aquatic plants (plus all the fish poop etc).
Huh, the point of fountains, for me, is for the trickling water sound. Everyone’s different! Love this setup, been wanting to make one for years but have no idea how to find a pump that won’t have too much pressure, smart, as expected of you, for not planting right in it, great info, easier cleaning! Happy anniversary!! ❤ I wanna lotus 🪷 pond I think that’d be fun
It still makes a nice little trickle🎶😊 I think I have the bowl filled kind of low so it splashes and echoes more than it was meant to but it’s still nice at full volume too ☺️ This pump actually has a little lever that controls the pressure, I forgot to mention. I have it set to the lowest pressure setting. Lotus pond would be awesome too!!😍 thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it. have a wonderful week!💜🌱💕✨🌿⛲️
wow I forget how much work and how exhausting life is for people who stress about the most stupid and unlikely things. im not shading you AT ALL. I am not like that, but make my life harder and more work by being incapable of some really simple things, like replying to emails, opening letters and TAKING MY KEYS when I leave the house. Its good to get a view of other people. my childhood friend is a lot like this. she would go through 100 of hypothetical scenarios and it was exhausting, I am good in crisis situations I just prefer to deal with something IF and when it happens not in a hypothetical conversation, but it must be even more exhausting to be the person thinking like that.
