Needs some seashells, some more stuff to make it look more like the beach 🏖️, Don't it Molly Brown? She's in agreement. From Austin Texas and me K-Lee and Molly Brown 🏖️🏖️🏖️🏖️🏖️

I think this looks really cool Celine, i was hoping you may have put two layers of waves to see the foam/cells underneath … but it turned out really beautiful!! Love your work - how neat are you??? I get in a right old pickle 😂

Beautiful work! Curious why you pour the resin in so many layers? Dries better? Newbie here. Thanks!
@celineartsandcrafts
@celineartsandcrafts 4 месяца назад
Hi, thank you 🤩 I poured in many layer for 3 reasons: first, I needed to stick the sand, stones, sea star and shell down to the bottom first, because a lot of objects are floating in resin - second reason: I do the ocean in a layer and the waves in another, because my white pigment paste is heavy and sinks down, so it would go under the ocean blue and would look weird or maybe disappear entirely. And then lastly, I used a resin in this project that has a pouring height of 1cm / 0,4in max. instead of a deep pour resin (more expensive), so I did it in layers. Hope that helped!

Hi Celine, how thick was the tray? And did you use only one blue shade? Thanks!
@celineartsandcrafts
@celineartsandcrafts 4 месяца назад
Hi! The resin part was about 3cm / 1,18in high, because I needed to cover the big sea star and have a flat surface to use as a tray. It was only one blue color (it's a mica powder color bora bora blue) but first I added only a bit of it and then a lot more to give it depth as the ocean gets deeper 😊

beautiful!! what is the purpose of adding silicone oil to your resin?
@celineartsandcrafts
@celineartsandcrafts Год назад
Thank you! 😊 the silicone oil helps to make the cells in the waves, be careful to only add 2 or 3 drops if you want to try it, too much can cause big resin holes (the surface will not be even)

Hello Sharon
@honey562012

Was all of the extra layers to give it depth? Very nice
@celineartsandcrafts
@celineartsandcrafts Год назад
Thanks! It was to make it flat and even to be able to use it as a tray or serving board, because the sea star was quite thick

Did you sand it at all between layers? I've heard other resin artists say it needs to be lightly sanded to get the resin to properly stick to itself.
@celineartsandcrafts
@celineartsandcrafts Год назад
I didn't need to because my resin has a long curing time of more than one day at my workshop temperature, you'll need to sand lightly if your resin piece is already cured completely and hard

@lidiat4881
@lidiat4881 Год назад
Why did you use silicone oil?
@celineartsandcrafts
@celineartsandcrafts Год назад
Hi, the silicone oil helps making the cells in the waves, because the resin doesn't want to stick to it so it creates these mini separations. A few drops is enough, I usually do 2 or 3
@lidiat4881
@lidiat4881 Год назад
