The Metal ODST Armor project continues and I finally decided it's time for a new helmet. A helmet made from METAL. A pure aluminum sheet metal build that'll surely challenge my skills and capabilities.
Material:
3003 AL Sheet metal (.090, .063, .125, .188)
6061 AL Plate (.250 .375)
8-32 Allen-Drive Cap Screws
Clear Acrylic Sheet
Silver Reflective One-Way Window Tint
Rustoleum 2 in 1 Filler Primer
Rustoleum Flat Black Primer
Rustoleum Slate (Dark Gray)
Rustoleum Apple Red
Rustoleum Satin Clear Coat
Black Acrylic Paint
Brown Acrylic Paint
Adhesive Back EVA Foam 2mm

How do you think the helmet or material would hold up to blunt force like a bat or hitting the ground or hitting.. someone

@@mr.eggiplier4030 it would dent but not crack or break. Hit hard enough with something it’d probably cave in. Definitely not an actual protective helmet but it’ll for sure last me a long long time.

Hell yeah, it's been a minute, but I am glad to see a new upload. To the people wondering why use metal, real metal looks and feels so much better than foam or plastic doctored up to look like metal. Plus you don't have to worry as much about damage. I think the helmet looks sick, can't wait to see more.

all the scuff marks and scratches not to mention the layers of wash you put on it make it looks just so bad ass. Not to mention the thing is made out of actual metal, and you managed to really blend the organic shaping and geometric shaping of the ODST helmet which I'd say is hard to do. amazing work dude!

This is giving me so much nostalgia. When I was younger I was obsessed with Halo props and figures. I loved watching videos like this! It makes me want to learn craftsmanship to make my own armor.

Man, this is so satisfying and amazing. Back in the halo 3 days I used to make the pepikura models for armourers. I did the halo 3 helmet and torso (and a few others) that a lot of people used on the 405th forums. I'm so delighted people like you are still doing and doing it the way I would have love to if I had the equipment and skill

I'd love to see a stamping press so that these could be cranked out without so much hand fitting and chance for human error as well to make it more symmetrical. Perhaps one day you can do this

paint thinner to remove the paint and show metal instead of using paint to simulate metal that you peel off looks so satisfying. Even if you can replicate that with paint, having it really BE the thing underneath is just so cool.

Helmet as a whole takes a second place to the welding, I have tried to weld aluminium before and its a nightmare to get right but nice work, this just shows off you know exactly what you are doing

The ODST helmet is made of a titanium alloy, the visor is a fiberglass / crystal mesh, either way, you've fs earned my sub

I made a full metal Elite Knight set from Dark Souls. The hole thing + shield weighs 90lbs. But the feeling you get when you're finished, I can relate.😀 Also, all done during my break time.

For it to be bullet proof it'd need to be made out of stronger materials, like steel/titanium/Kevlar. But having an aluminum mold for future reference isn't bad either!

This video honestly makes me really want to get into metalworking even more and try to create a Halo 2 ODST armor out of metal, I would also use some of Halo 3 ODST's armor pieces as well but the Helmet would definitely be Halo 2's.

This is friggin awesome, I've been looking into ways to make a full aluminum ODST set and you're proof it can be done and not only that but done very well.
