One pack of Oreo One pack 8oz cream cheese 2 packs of vanilla pudding instant 12oz of whipped topping 4th stick of butter 3 cups of milk One cup of powered sugar 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
I’ve made dirt dessert using mascarpone or whipped cream cheese instead of regular cream cheese and homemade whipped cream instead of cool whip. Just don’t use cream cheese spread cause that’s cream cheese with additives to make it spreadable, and be sure to stabilize the whipped cream if using homemade (plain gelatin and instant pudding mix both work great for stabilizing whipped cream).
@@retroflashbackdudewhat do you like best for stabilizing your whipped cream? If you have directions an a recipes for it that would be heavenly? Do you also add vanilla extract and how much please? It is for my son's birthday. If you can , Can you give me your whole recipe for it ? The mascarpone and whipping cream with stabilizers? That would be ever so outstanding and ever so grateful. The whole family just loves it. And there family is up visiting him also, And I COU LD REALLY SHINE THEN, AND BE VERY IMPRESSIVE. OH, PLEASE PLEASE THAT WOULD BE SO HEAVENLY GREAT,!!!❤ 🎉 😊😊😊😊😊😊 Thank you very truly truly for your help and imput.💖💜💚💙🧡💟👍👍👌👌🤘🤘🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
The dirt cake recipe I use calls for chocolate pudding instead of vanilla. The Oreos are ground up in the food processor without the cream filling and then I use a terra cotta, ceramic or plastic planter/pot and fill it with the mixture in layers. The last layer is the ground Oreos and a sprig of mint or basil with a little scoop or a tiny shovel stuck in off to the side or placed in the saucer. I put it as a centre piece and no one knows it’s the dessert until it’s time to serve it :) I’ve also used smaller terra-cotta pots with a larger terra-cotta pot and put various edible herbs into the mini pots to look like a little herb garden centre piece. The kids love “eating dirt” for their dessert :) The ground up Oreos really does look just like dirt
Thank you for teaching me the recipe that brung my mom the most happiest times during the current pandemic. As a single African American mother, I know she has it so hard, but dirt cake really brings her her worries to a stop. It might seem like an exaggeration, but I mean it haha. Thank you sm : D.
This is one of my favorite desserts..It’s sooo good..lol My daughter made and Easter version, and colored the layers with pastel colors. She ended with the pudding mixture layer on top, and added some green dyed coconut and a giant peep. I think it would be easy to make this into a 4th of July trifle, as well. I’d just get some cake topper supplies, like a flag and fireworks 💥 picks. Halloween, and Christmas too, or any occasion. I like it so much, I may start a new tradition..lol Oh, and I love it leftover as well..:) 🦋🤗🌷
I made this recipe many times, many years ago. I usually add gummy worms to it to make it more like "dirt." I've also made it for Halloween with orange oreos and in small, individual serving clear cups instead of a bowl, with little skeletons and RIP gravestones on the top as decoration for extra "dirt" spookiness. The ideas are endless! Now I'm thinking peanut butter oreos would be very tasty in this, too. That may be my next recipe on my cooking channel :)
Tami, this is the second recipe I've made from your channel... The other was the "do nothing cake" My family and I have enjoyed them both!! I can't wait to remake your other recipes!!
That looks delicious! When I was a kid, I made mud pudding snacks with Oreos in them! This kinda reminds me of those, but with vanilla pudding instead of chocolate.
Mary Thomas yeah we’ll Buzz Feed did NOT invent this recipe. My mom died 4 yrs ago at the age of 79. She use to make it. It’s been around a long time definitely long before Buzz
Looks Really Good Tami. I Liked Your Idea Of Switching Up The Oreo’s, Especially The Cinnamon Bun Suggestion, Cinnamon Bun With The Cream Cheese...Yum!!! 😁
This looks like such a yummy recipe, oreos just seem to go well in creamy, cold desserts - have you ever made an oreo cheesecake? I like how easy this cake is though!
This looks absolutely delicious well done as always Tammy thank you so much for sharing this recipe that you received. What has been your all time favorite recipe you've ever made?

I made this using the lemon oreos. I added real lemon juice and lemon zest to the mixture, and crushed up lemonhead candy and put it on the top instead of the cookie crumbs. It turned out so good. Next time I make it, I am going to do a tutorial.
By any chance can you tell me your recipe, it my son's Birthday coming up . That sounds heavenly refreshing on a hot summer day. Very cheerful for a birthday treat! Thank you if you would. ❤ 🎉 😊😊😊
I think you were supposed to melt your butter and mix it with some of your crumbs for the crust then put your pudding in it then sprinkle some crumbs on top of the pudding.. but the way you made it looked really good to... 👍
