Hi and thanks! I just searched up GDevelop. It's something that I might try out in the future, as I have never made a proper JavaScript / Web game before, although I am fairly proficient in JavaScript. I could consider using it in the "Gamedev.js Jam 2024" which is a game jam where you have to make a HTML5 game in 13 days. However it is in 7 months (a pretty long time so, don't get your hopes up). Anyways, I primarily make videos on game development (with Unity) and I also do other coding projects.
My pixel art and music skills are self-taught, by experimenting and watching RU-vid videos. There are plenty of good free resources online, and you can definitely build up the skills with enough time and dedication!
Thank you! I have pretty much learnt everything online for free. There are many great RU-vid videos and guides on learning game development and programming in general. But you don't get good just by watching or copying a bunch of tutorials. You have to practice a lot and to try make things on your own, although it is useful to read documentation, or to analyse how other people have solved a similar problem that you are stuck on. It takes a long time to get good at anything (it helps if you're naturally talented), but I started coding and making games because I enjoyed doing it. So, basically with enough time, effort and the right set of learning resources, you can learn most things for free just by using the internet. However, that's not to say that paid online courses aren't worth it though. Anyways, another more recent example is well this RU-vid channel, which my first video was posted like 1 month or 2 ago. I've learnt how to make decent-ish videos from utilising free information.
