If you're curing your pieces near the palette of resin you're using, the resin will harden if even a little bit of the UV light touches it. Your best bet is to move your palette well away from your UV lamps while curing. I've had UV resin get more tacky if I've left it out on my parchment paper palettes, but I've never had it fully set unless it's too near UV light, even indirectly. Also, you *are* receiving 25 grams of UV resin - it just seems like less because the bottle is bigger. I personally wouldn't want my resin filled all the way to the top, because then it would just spill over when I remove the protective seal. 😅 A fully filled bottle would also not squeeze out well without the air gap. Great video - and absolutely darling kitty! 😁
usually with uv resin I don't have any problems with it curing on it's own, you just need to make sure you close your curtains so no sunlight from your windows are getting in and everything should be fine
A statement from sophie and toffee they had posted on their facebook page: Addressing the 25g UV resin bottle issue about not filled up. We need to let you know that the amount inside is indeed 25g, it looks half filed because of the size of the bottle. This bottle size is used because of the opening cap size which is required to match the rest of the different bottle grams opening size. The total weight of the bottle should be around 33G with 8G is the weight of the bottle. Please help us to pass this information along.
girl I've watched ur videos on and off since waaay back when and you even taught me how to use polymer clay! coming back to your channel i forgot how calming your videos were. love them!
♥️😸 Love you, Leo! Don’t be jealous, Sara always makes sure you get your due attention. Though you are an absolutely beautiful cat and I love when you appear in Sara’s videos. (I’m jealous of Sara because she has you. 😺)
You just reminded me I need to make my angel potion too! I've done a year's worth of Sophie and Toffee videos but only realised there was a starter box a few weeks ago haha! So I need to do this to show my lovely subs how I would do it! This turned out super pretty, I agree it can be misleading that the resin bottle is much bigger than the actual amount that's in there, but hopefully it IS the 25g it says it is, they probably just needed space for the design on the bottle etc. I like that you talk during your tutorial, I voice over all of mine, but this sounds nice you doing it as you go!
This channel really helps me!, Im doing a level 3 art and design course in college (England) and I'm currently waiting to start my second year. Sometimes doing constant art I get a lot of art block and you help me out with new ideas and stuff, so thank you 😄😄
I love watching you try new crafts! You have such a fun and sweet personality, and the fact that you share my first name gives you even more points lol. Oh and I can’t forget Leo! He’s such a beautiful cat!
I love my kit from the other resin video. Also someone I know bought the sofie and toffee and had the same problem with the resin not being full. She was very disappointed. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. Love your video's.
Well Sarah another fine video! You’re always a joy to watch and you do such fun stuff! Looking forward to your next video unboxing or craft kit exploration! Have a wonderful day!
I recently ordered some items from Sophie & Tophie and was very pleased with the quality and value. I became aware of them thru Jackie at NerdieCrafter. Great products, great RU-vidr. Thanks Sara, for sharing these Sophie and Tophie items. I think they’re a great company. And please continue to share your great videos. I love them.
I just recently ordered a sphere ball mold as well...and while looking for that mold I came across a cupcake mold and a teapot mold...so much cute stuff.
You really ought to check out aliexpress they have great resin and bezels and pigments and mica powders some of the sellers sell on Amazon it takes awhile but its not expensive. The resin is only half full but that is the way it always comes but you do get the 25 grams. You really should do an Aliexpress haul.
I so wish I could come meet you. That would be so great. I just adore you 🥰💖 I am really liken all this resin stuff. This kit is the bomb compared to that other one. I like the "thing" you made, but I just don't know what to call it. Lol 😂 It's just a little busy for me. I kinda think all the things take away from the beauty of eachother there are so many. Those feathers are phenomenal and the test tube with the ball and cap on it was just perfect 💖 God bless you Sarah ❤ XOXO
It's crazy how many years I've been watching your channel! I still remember your duct tape wallet. I just started making videos but I hope they can be as good as yours one day :)
I love the Bob Ross requests for videos BUT I think I have seen enough of a play by play . I wish someone would do a Bob Ross challenge using pastel paints not the darker colors of what he is painting . Oh please make a pastel Bob Ross!
Just found your channel. I love your energy, your personality and you are so beautiful! First video of yours I’ve seen and absolutely had to subscribe! 😍
Mixing in a small cup helps with it curing so quickly. Less surface area to cure. But, yeah, if you have any windows with any sunlight, and I'm sure some filming lights, you're getting some UV into it.
Hey! Could you get one of those *laughs* children's soda makers just to see if any of it actually works? 😂😂👏 idk why I just think it would be intristing.
Try to take 2 of the packing peanuts and see if they are a craft. Just slightly wet/dip one and then see if it sticks to the other one. I had some like that and they dissolve completely in water. But if you just dampen them, they stick yo each other. I think they are called Magic Nuudles.
uv resin doesnt harden if theres not uv light, theres either uv in your lights, sunlights or you keep your light too close to your uv light. i use the same resin and if i keep it out of the light you can keep it liquid out of the bottle for like a week ( havent test it longer) even in tiny amounts
