These games were such a treat to play as a kid, spent soooo much time on them. It's actually the reason why I play Dale now, since the Easterling siege was a mission and you could recruit the archers as Dwarves.
That's an excellent idea :) Which ones do you think would look good on the tabletop, maybe some of the capturable neutral dwellings from the second game?
@@windrushwargamers2745 Totally, from what is visible in the video it looks like you also used it on the wooden areas and the stone as well? Even if not it tones down the heavy contrast had to the rest of the rather dark paint job. I think it binds all colours really good together while still leaving them visible. Really great job!
I liked this a lot. Those games left such a strong inpression on me, they would totally be a great inspiration for terrain. Gondor farm would look really great with the wheat growing, too. And a Gondor outpost with the tower and a well and statue would look really impressive, I'm sure. How about these tower ruins you can garrison with archers?
@@windrushwargamers2745 thanks. i don't own many video games but i love how you took inspiration from the game. more content like that would be cool! just ideas, jotting lots of stuff down, odd sketch here and there at the moment. i try to take ideas and add my own unique spin to them, rather than just copy! i am designing a few mega-ish boards in 3d design software, and these will remain classified for now! i got so inspired at the start of this year by content like this that i returned to the game, returned to building, and i plan on creating my own channel soon to vlog my journey :) hopefullly over 2023 you will see some of my content.
@@windrushwargamers2745 not terrain yet but currently working on my Grey Havens inspired Rivendell army so you’ve given me the idea to look at the buildings from BFME2 from the Grey Havens mission. Might have to have a go at building some for a display board 👍
Really in love with these pieces, feel like making my own now. I would love to see a dedicated wargaming board for a mordor or isengard "bfme base" The game had lots of flavourous buildings, I think the evil factions would translate better into miniature, although the lothlorien trees would look amazing too
Thanks! would love to see your work if you do decide to do it. The Lothlorien tree houses look immense, maybe I could make one or two pieces inspired by them to supplement my Mirkwood terrain. I also might have a crack at making a Gondor Farm
@@windrushwargamers2745 yeah I still play it . I play age of ring 7.3 very often . I am enjoying very nuch . Your terrain building were exactly the same ! Also I only play evil factions both in miniatures and the bfme and that was amazing . Maybe in your next video you should go with the food factions like gondor or rohan or dwarfs . I suppose the elves might be difficult as the have trees for buildings .
@@windrushwargamers2745 I'm giving them a fur inside on all the cloaks similar to Grimbolds. Then really scratching up and chipping their shields and dirtying the bottom of the cloak (they have been defending the Isen for days lol)
Aww man sooo good. The nostalgia hit from this was incredible. I remember I would sit and watch the furnace pop out the ingots for ages thinking it was the best graphics ever. Plan on making some good faction buildings?
Thanks my bro. It was a trip for us as well, just the sound bites alone take me back to my childhood. Aye I have thought about it. I wouldn't want to do a full board though so maybe a one off piece- I reckon I could make a decent Gondor Farm to supplement my Gondor terrain.
@@windrushwargamers2745 Class man, yeh the good ones will be much harder i think. I always liked the elven archery range maby ill give that a bash one day
@@jmaccsarmiesofmiddleearth That would be sick to see that. Was thinking about maybe the dwarf buildings from BFME 2 with the axe throwing but I will start at the farm. That will get more use at my table anyway
Thanks Twinkle! If I did it wouldn't be a whole set again, it took way too long. I might make a Gondor Farm from BFME. Should be easy enough and would supplement the Gondor terrain I have right now :) What are you working on?
Thanks Buddy. This was a Rhino toy with the horns cut off, and a horn more like the Great Beast's sculped on with Greenstuff. I was going to glue him down but decided to leave him loose for the hazards.
