And almost no detectors can even detect it... it Emmitts so rarely and in a random direction that the chances of hitting the detectior at all is a miracle!
So those particles will outlive the milky-way galaxy and potentially be witness to The Big Crunch. Potentially even then be born into the new big bang in the form of pure energy? Is bismuth eternal?
Due to it's nearly lack of radioactivity, it's also considered the heaviest "stable" element on the periodic table as every element that comes after it does not have an isotope that is considered stable. Another fun fact: Bismuth is also in Pepto-bismol.
Dont worry dear, it is not like you would imagine. It is a light hue more than a color, so it does not make any difference, unless of course I am color blind too.
I did not... until I saw your comment. It seems a little suspicious to me. Yeah he very well may have had a skull-shaped pieces made of bismuth... however, it does make me question whether or not he added a different metal [via the "skull" pieces] to cause these [amazing] formations or to alter the color or something. I guess there's no way to be certain... the fact that he didn't address it in this clip (is there a longer video?) doesn't help 🤗 ie. "I threw in these bismuth skull pieces that I had to increase the amount"
@@shizukagozen777to give it strength , weight and more uniform shape....you would still see all the bismuth . Like putting a coin , little statue , etc. in a lucite block for little paper weight , etc. Imo , that's what he means by "use resin" .
@@jeffreese1828 They literally said "Fill it with resin" so I'm pretty sure that's not what they meant. Also I don't see the point of wanting a uniform shape but to each their own, I guess.
It’s even the first radioactive metal now. They discovered it decays extremely slowly (so it’s not dangerous at all). That’s why it was thought to be the last stable element until somewhere in the 2000s

Nah epoxy is terrible just a fad no one's gonna want in 10-20 years these things age poorly. Along with how toxic the materials are. People just follow dad's Luke sheep good old insta, Fb and Yt. You might find your own route one day everyone's into the same crap and no one's unique anymore
All known Bismuth isotopes are radioactive actually, however the half-life of the most abundant one is over 20 quintillion years,so it almost doesn't count since it's comparable to background radiation. Fun fact - upset stomach pill peptobismol has Bismuth in it( yeah,you swallow radioactive element to help with upset tummy).
While it's cooling and still has a thin crust on top, use tongs to pull out a chunk of it. Or put a crystal on top of it, and wait a few seconds before taking it out. The bismuth should stick to it.
