What I do for directional is to use the clips to clip it in, then flip it right side out to make sure it's correct. If it's a fabric that I use alot, then I don't need to check as often because I know which way they should be. But the clips help it stay in place before having to stitch and seam rip, but I've been right there with you with the seam ripper. 🤣
Neita as fas as directional....I pin the waistband and pants portion a couple of pins. Then turn that section right side out to see if direction is correct. If wrong I know to flip band over and sew. Works for me. I have to remember direction of print when cutting pattern 🤪 Still trying to find sprinkles fabric. Hope yours comes in soon. 😀
I love the new feature of YT no one can see the dislikes so no satisfaction for them since no one else can see them love the tutorial. Good job, I made one before one way pattern, thank you for next time. Planning on making more now that a grandbaby (girl) will be here this summer.
Love all your videos !!!! I like you are always honest, and show us when you make mistakes, that way we don't expect to be right all the time !!! All your tutorials, work with me, etc are always welcome. Yesssss, keep posting videos 🙂. I am so glad you are trying to take some time off too 🙂🙂
Quick tip for removing serger seams, only upick the 2 top needle threads and the looper threads will just fall off. Also razor blade is quicker than seam ripper.
hi Neita, I tried the pattern this morning... did you notice a extra inchs of fabric when attaching the waistband? I guess I didn't stretch enough as a was serging. What I know about directional fabric is the waistband when folded and facing you the pattern will be upside down with raw edges up and the cuffs when facing you and folded would have raw edge up and pattern upside down.
So cute ! Great job Neita with the tutorial don't worry yourself. We all enjoy your tutorials😊. Your doing so great with all the videos and tiktoks👍2022 is your Year!! We're you able to see Angela at the Expo in California? All of y'all in a video would be EPIC!!! Such great inspirations all of you!
Great video Neita!!! Thank you for keeping it real because it happens to us all. The bummies are so cute!!! Please make a video for the head wrap/bows. Love your tutorials!
Hi Neita, I've really been enjoying your videos. I love these bummies and they are so easy to make. We finally have a girl in the family and I can't wait to sew/embroider for her. I am about to launch my business and RU-vid channel and one of the first videos I am going to do is about industrials. I just bought my first industrial (Juki) in June and am loving it. I love how much you share and it is a lesson I am taking to heart!
And when you sew the cuffs, make sure the print direction is going towards the cut portion of the fabric (when looking at the cuff when pinned to the main portion, it will look right side up)
An idea for a summer substitute for your bell bottoms would be skorts. Skorts are always my go to every summer for my daughter. It's different than the usual tutu. Just a thought.
Yor video was good. You have grown soo much in you sewing. I remember when you unboxed your serger...cutting out my patterns I enjoy. Yout choice of fabric is great. I will have to get those two prints...stay well and safe..from Tennessee
I just purchased that pattern. I'm excited to test it out. The pattern I used is actually shorts (I was wondering why they looked longer/bigger than usual hehehe)
Hey purchased this as well!!! So when I measured the test square I was about 1/4 inch over. Did you have this issue? Also quick tip: when you open it in adobe, open the layers tab to the left of your document and then deselect the layers you are not using. That way when printing you just get the size you need.
Neita I prefer to watch some one that does make mistakes in their videos it makes it more real trust me I have went back and watched videos where the mistakes were made and was good that wasn’t just me!!!
I know your pain on seam ripping. I just had to seam rip 5 yards of ribbon off of tulle fabric. It definitely sucks and takes too much time. Your tutorial didn't suc and I loved it. . Everyone has different sewing type and techinque. What works for one doesn't always work for another. We all learn by trial and error. Keep up the good work.
Great video!! After you sew the waist band and the cuffs do you leave the thread longer and weave it through the completed stitches? Your doing a great job! Love watching all of your videos....
@@NeitaFajita ok thanks. I purchased a serger almost a year ago and I finally decided it was time to learn how to use it. I have 2 multi needle embroidery machines and 1 single needle, 2 industrial sewing machines and 1 regular sewing machine, but to make the cute little shorts and leggings the serger seems to be so much faster and the seams so much stronger!
Don’t beat yourself up too much. When I go some time without making bummies, joggers, etc and then I make them again I always make that mistake about the cuffs and waistband. I try to make sure the print is going the right way with the raw edge/seam on top but also it depends if you have the pants inside out or right side out. But even knowing that I still make the same silly mistake. 🤦🏽♀️😅😂
HAHA soo I tried this pattern yesterday I made a pair for my six year old daughter...and the booty part looked so droopy like she took a poo hahaha I might look for a different pattern.
