I love using my own shampoo bars tho i only make them very basically, I can't use anything else on my hair now. a friend's daughter has dreadlocks and she loves them too. castor definitely causes a bit of a stickiness but so good on the hair it's worth it :)
I have to say the Relaxation Shampoo bar is absolutely gorgeous! The color combo and the way the wall pour ended up is awesome. I saw the leaking and was curious as to how it was going to turn out on the design...Wow! It is amazing! Did this harden up over time?
Oh brothers, when you said ‘I’m gonna kill 2 birds with 1 stone’ my 4 yr old grandson just about had a mini meltdown. That was funny. I had no idea that making shampoo bars at home was even possible. Sometimes I wonder if I live under a rock.
Here is a completely unbiased and unsolicited testimonial for Billie's shampoo bars. I have wanted to try a shampoo bar for a long time, but was shy about spending so much and not liking the results, plus hearing some warnings about having to "transition" and maybe rinse afterward? Eh... Well, I just tried the "ice blue and peppermint" last night for the first time. My 60+ hair has NEVER felt like this! Silky smooth, shiny and smells amazing still after 18 hours. I didn't even need a detangler, and I honestly can't stop running my hands through my hair. Lol! I literally rolled the bar in my hands a few times and took that lather (luscious lather, I might add) and washed my hair, that was it, that's all it took love! love! love! the results. Billie, don't change a thing about your "recipe" it's perfect! (small disclaimer: yes, I suppose it's possible I will have a different opinion after a few more uses, but I highly doubt it and I certainly hope not)
Paula J Awesome!!! I'm so glad you like them! I love them and that's all I ever use. I use a leave in conditioner for my ends afterwards. Thanks for your feedback!
Janice Macak I'm so glad you like it! I remade the Ice Blue shampoo bars recently but am having an issue with my video of it. I'm really hoping to be able to share the video of the remake because I changed them up a little bit.
Spicy Ginger's Soap I was wondering the same thing about the cups worth the long spout. have been looking for them all over aliexpress but can't find them. would you be willing to leave a link to them? idk what they even call them but I've tried all types of keyword combos & nothing works.
Jamie- LOVE U MORE SOAPS LOL! Yep, isn't that funny! I made all three, the Two I showed in this video and I made a remake of the Ice Blue type but the video for that one isn't right. The making of it is fine but somehow the cutting of it didn't get filmed. I don't know if I should even upload just the making. We'll see, I could upload the making with a picture of the bars. I made cubes/chunks like the way I cut the last batch of Angel Baby.
Would this shampoo bar be good for extra-dry scalp, normal to dry hair? How much do they run for? I'm using the ones from Lush, but all too drying & how much do they run for? Interested over here...
Christine De Jesus Hi! My Shampoo bars are $6.00 and they feel different than LUSH shampoo bars. My Shampoo bars are cold process soap. LUSH shampoo bars are surfactant based, they have sls or slsa needles, I think, which make them more of a detergent. They have a very different feel and result. My Shampoo bars are all I use, I never use commercial shampoo anymore. After my shower I use a cream leave in conditioner, some people do an apple cider vinegar rinse. I've never tried that.
Christine De Jesus These two bars will be available in approx 2 weeks. I'll have to look in my recipe book to see the exact date and then I'll get back to you.
