I like the curtain concept looks so much tidier and could possibly help keep the discus tank warm

The curtains on the shelving looks loads better than the bright orange and who knows might help with keeping heat in

The title of the video undersells. It covered so much more. I've got the same issue with covering up racking, I think the curtains are definitely an improvement.

I’m with you give me a nicely planted tank for Discus. I find they’re less skittish and as a result they’re healthier with the reduced stress.

you could sew/attach some rare earth magnets into the corners of the curtains so you can pin them up out of your way whilst you're doing work... Looking good :D

Can appreciate the money saving aspect ,but for me discus are show fish and need a nice big tank ,cant skimp on the set up .the curtains look good great idea

No, most tanks have lids and I run a dehumidifier too. The fish room fridge s actuallybthebdryeat room in the house!

New subscriber here. Love your channel. I want to cry about you not moving the whole tank to your office. The discus need a bigger tank. 😢 They look so crammed in there. Why not put them in one of those other larger tanks you got down there? That’s a huge down grade for them. I’m watching for a second time in disbelief. My feelings are so hurt. I loved the tank upstairs but I understand about money and heating. I’m sill hurt though like it’s my tank.

Sorry but I just don't get it. You pay money for the utilities to heat your home. You can buy electricity to heat a large thermal mass (aquarium) that will disperse it's heat in a pleasant way to your home. TLDR don't rag on your aquariums. Make your homes better, don't stress about your aquarium.

There is nothing pleasant about paying for electricity to heat an aquarium in a cold environment - I'm not ragging or stressing about my aquariums, i'm optimising them and making them work better.

@@AquariumAdventures believe me I know, living in a place where I heat my home more than half the year. My point is that radiant, humid heat from an aquarium is actually an efficient and effective (but obviously not primary) means of heating your home. You're going to heat your home anyway, right?

@@evanh40 My point is i'm not going to (and can't because of the size) heat my hallway. So any attempts to heat an aquarium located there is ultimately futile 👍

@@AquariumAdventures so it's a house issue, not an aquarium issue. Got it. I just don't like the tone that aquaria are some extravagant excessive expense that require mitigation. We're trying to attract people to the hobby, not scare them from it.

NOOOOOOOOO!😭 Put the discus in the big tank & nobhead in the smaller tank,it's common sense because there's so much more of the Discus & tetras bro. Yer wee curtains are a good idea but you should go with black,it would look better......OH! Send me your tank you had the Discus in up stairs,,,I'll give ye £600 for it✌️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
