I was married in the USA in 1975. I loved to sew by hand and create personal projects for gifts. I learned quilting like your Mom with books bought from craft stores. I still have the Quilt In A Day book by Eleanor Burns I refer to. The quilt stands and hoops “WAY back then” (lol) were troublesome just as your Mom said and made me like quilting less for a while. As a Mom myself back then you were too tired to relax at night to quilt with little ones to are for. Keep up the great videos and all your conversations. Not only are you building beautiful quilts and pin cushions, but precious memories as well🥰🧵🪡

I saw an antique quilt at a Museum in Doylestown, PA a few years ago, circa 1900 that was machine quilted on a treadle machine. I was amazed to learn that creators were machine quilting that long ago. I have since seen many more. Why oh why all that hand quilting in the 80s and 90s. I'm in Dave's Mom's camp. It's not for me!

Basements are magical places below the rest of the house in the colder parts of the country where all sorts of things go on! Craft and many other creative spaces, family rooms, extra bedrooms, laundry, storage, & quite often all of the above at once. 😁I spent my teens in AZ and surely did miss the basements of my younger years in the mid west.
