@@cherryberry9023 they're not for everyone, the first house I lived in wasnt open floorplan, but nearly every house afterwards has been, so it's really normal to me now and I cant seem to make a house without doing it now

It would be a fun idea to "collab" on a house like one of you does the shell and the other has to put all the furniture in and then you could switch. Or you could have the same prompt for a build and see what each one of you does with it? idk could be interesting
You and your boyfriend should do a save file together where he makes the modern neighborhoods like Newcrest and you do suburban neighborhoods like Willow Creek
I really like that it seems he furnishes the "feature" rooms, like the rooms that would be the selling part of a house.. You know the laundry with all the storage and space, the big diagonal dining room.... He should be a show-home designer HAHA
The diagonal front was really nice and I don't think I have ever seen that before. Sidenote: Since I have been watching Kayla and learning from her for builds, I have start noticing the houses around me, how "boxer" they are, and think about I would build the shell of a house I drive by on the road in the Sims
if you want an open floor plan, how i usually do it is have the really tiny 1/2 walls placed to visually separate the space and then i delete them once i am done building. Its kinda like drawing a face, it's helpful to have the lines that mark facial features.
I'm this way too: I love building the shell of a house but when it comes to furnishing I get tired quickly. I have no problem furnishing kitchens and bathrooms, the living rooms are the rooms I hate the most and I don't know why. I usually build the shell and furnish the kitchen and bathrooms in a fairly short time, then I always take a break and go back to furnishing the rest in a second moment, sometimes I alternate between bedrooms/living room and landscaping (I love landscaping) just to avoid getting too bored and risking abandoning the build. The worst is: I tipically start building with the clear goal in mind of doing a small build so I can furnish it quickly but inevitably I add space over space and always find myself with big houses in my hands and the ache of the thought I have to furnish them all :D

I'm guilty of the shell building thing with my own sims 😂 I'll build the house, and then I'm like, "Uh I don't want to furnish." So I put down their essentials and 'decorate as I play.'
you should have a video where you go over more of his builds but he sits besides you and provides commentary and explanations for your questions. that'd be cute as heck. or you should do a reverse shell challenge and furnish some of his emptier houses so it's his build but with your furnishing, a mix of both of you two. also props to him, those builds are amazing

That house with the diagonal dining room that she liked was actually one of Kayla’s own shells and she didn’t even notice... Also loves tiny kitchens, loves tiny backyards, I’m sensing a theme.
I find it fun and helpful when creating open floorplans to use your flooring as room indicators. Like there won't be walls but I'll have like one main flooring for the majority of the space and then give at least the living room a different flooring and sometimes the kitchen as well to give an indication of separate rooms

A fun challenge: Build each other a shell. You have to furnish your boyfriend's shell, your boyfriend has to furnish your shell. You can add new walls but you can't tear down existing walls. annnd go.
I really want to furnish the “Garden Essence” house but I have a chrome book 🙁 My old computer broke and I had a bunch of packs and builds but I can’t play the Sims 4..😔 I wish I still had my old computer..
