I'm going to be really honest with you when i saw your video title about you making your first gumbo i was scared to watch it because I'm a big fan i love your channel, i watch your videos over and over, to me you can do nothing wrong so it took me almost 2 days to watch this video i love gumbo I grew up on gumbo my grandmother is from Lousiana so we would eat gumbo almost every week, and I watch a lot of people on U Tube trying to make gumbo and I am so disappointed in most of their attempts to make it the way my family makes gumbo so I admire you so much that i didn't want to be disappointed but you did a very good job u make your gumbo the way i do even the lump crab meat i add that to , that gumbo looks wonderful and so delicious i should of known that you would master gumbo too you did a excellent job only thing I didn't like was i couldn't get a bowl for myself
Girl you cooked that gumbo like a Cajun!! Good job, we love our gumbo in Louisiana. Seafood is my favorite. I sometimes make a big batch of roux and put it in an airtight container in the fridge it lasts a long time. I usually get 4 or 5 gumbos out of a big batch, also you can use that roux to make chicken or shrimp fricasse, you just don’t add as much stock and it’s like a thick stew, it’s really good. Hey My blessed friend, The gumbo could be made better by adding a tablespoon of file'. I am a Louisiana girl and we have all kinds of gumbo but no matter the kind, okra and file' is always a prt of the seasonings. Btw...you keep forgetting to put your pinch of GOD all purpose seasoning on the menu. Take care my friend in Christ.
