Thank you SO much for watching. Please leave a comment. Here is the recipe for the Dusting Powder and the Deodorant.
DUSTING POWDER- Dried Rose Petals and Calendula Petals ground to a powder and mixed with equal parts of bicarbonate of soda and arrowroot powder (or cornflour). Mix altogether and add a few drops of your favourite essential oil. Mix again. To use, dust under your arms or on your body using a puff or on a damp cloth.
DEODORANT - Infuse fresh Rose petals (or flower petals of choice) in organic coconut oil. Remove the petals and allow the coconut oil to set. Blend equal parts of bicarbonate of soda and Arrowroot powder (or cornflour) and then mix in the coconut oil as if it were a dough. The coconut oil should incorporate all the powders. Add your favourite essential oil and mix again and transfer to a container. To use, simply swipe over the surface and spread under the arms.

I made your deodorant this morning and it has lasted throughout a hot day in Colorado. It works better than the natural deodorant , with 27 ingredients, from a natural store. Thank you for sharing your recipe!

😻 I my own as well. I use bentonite clay and arrowroot, essential oils, coconut oil, sometimes beeswax for a smooth glide. The clay absorbs the oils . In corporate and medical field can’t have wet marks on clothes. .baking soda irritates my skin and not suggested for eczema .calendula is a great skin tonic so is frankincense, bergamot, lavender, rose,. Geranium is nice smell as well. For the guys I use cypress, cedar wood, pine although lime is nice for summer with vevtiter /bergamot.👍

I use salt stick or crystals from the botanic shop. I still have one stick that I had since 2011 and I still have half of it left. Also want to note, that I do drink mint teas, which helps to combat the humidity of South Florida climate to prevent the smell. Also wearing natural fiber clothing helps a lot to prevent sweating too much. I notice I only sweat and smell if I wear polyester fabric, drink soda and eat processed foods, but if I go all natural I don't get the snick, stick or sweat. Also going vegetarian helps so much. If I consume 90% fruits and vegs I don't sweat at all or minimize it drastically and prevents female complications. Anyways thank you for sharing your tips and ideas. Love this! Many blessings (ASE!).

The crystal deodorant has alum - which is aluminum! A simple option if you want over the counter is milk of magnesia (plain) - magnesium!! I make magnesium 'water' using a bit of the MoM in carbonated water - it's very well absorbed and easy to make up. You can use the Milk of magnesia straight from the bottle - I keep it in a small jar and it works beautifully!

I had razer burn under my arms last week so I applied some of my homemade Rosemary Gladstar Face & body cream. I had no idea it would double as a deodorant due to the coconut oil! It wasn't perfect but it sure did sooth the itch and irritation and definitely kept me odor free the first day. The following day was hot, but still helped a lot. It lead me down the rabbit hole to revisit some of your videos. I ended up adding tea tree oil to a little. It needs further experimentation but I'm happy with the start. Thank you! Also. It did not stain my clothes.

Girl, You've got some really great videos/learning vids which I love, I had to subscribe, not too many true herbalists these days willing to teach their practice..My great-grandmother would never buy a lot of commercial soaps, teas, salves, etc and would get onto family about it..She made them all herself, she was 82 when she passed back in 01 and I was never able to really learn her ways but her daughter my grandmother that raised me, taught me what she knew from her before she had passed back in 13, so I'm trying to get back if that takes me learning with what was lost with her, and I think the video's you create is like a reflection for me in a sense, I just wished I would have gotten to watch her more and could have learned more, she grew up in the Appalachian region mountain areas and in the old folk/wise women ways...

I’ve been using this deodorant and dusting powder for a couple of weeks now and it is so nice! It held up well in a couple of 100-degree days! I’ve always put essential oils in my homemade deodorants and powders but your method of using fresh and dried flowers is so much better. Knowing the plants came from my own garden makes all the difference and they smell wonderful. Thank you for your videos! I always learn so much from you 💕

Beautiful! I've tried many combinations and the single most important thing that affects it is WHAT YOU EAT. Then, baking soda can irritate. From the looks of the comments, it appears Shea butter can stain clothing (I thought it was the coconut oil). Citrus essential oils are antibacterial so can help with eliminating odor (I've added lemon, lime and apricot with some success). Also, Trader Joe's has a Tea Tree Oil facial wash which works perfectly as a midday "refresher" when it is added to some baby wipes. All combinations then work better than any store-bought plaster which only masks and covers the real issue. More ❤❤❤ from the US!

Made these and they are brilliant!! no stains whatsoever and smell divine! I think the idea of staining comes from the use of shea butters in some natural deodorants, as I have used these before and they do leave a stain and thick residue on your clothes. Hi Terry Thank you for your Videos and recipies I have the strong feeling that you really are part of your surrounding nature. Ihave a good herbal knowledge too, I grow and collect the same plants as you do.But because I live in a warmer climate in Austria , the plants have another essence. In pysis and spirit. The same kind of plant is a different one if it grows up in the mountain in the rough air or in a garden pamperd by the owner Yor plants have to stand the rough winds and the misty air And so they are the right ones for you. Not a product from elsewhere! ❤greetings,🌻🦋 Christine

Love your opening shots/images! Are you a Pisces? And, I completely agree with your comments on the many purchased products that work contrary to our natural body systems. My task today is to make a batch of body/hand cream (Rosemary Gladstar's recipe) and to make and apply a flaxseed/fenugreek hair conditioner. On making our own products: I find it the absolute most pleasurable, satisfying and assuring way of life. Not only do I know exactly what I am putting in or on my body, but I experience a profound connection to the plants I grow and use. This way of life is intensely grounding and creative. Wish we were neighbors!!

It would be great, we could make up batches of stuff together😅 You can't go wrong with Rosemary's recipes. Making the connection to plants and then realising that you have to take care of them and respect them and then you have to protect Mother Earth - that is the message I am trying to get out.🌿

I personally have found baking soda very irritating unless used in minuscule amounts, or not at all. It causes my skin to feel like it's burning. I have heard from others that they have the same issue. It would be great to consider alternatives to baking soda. Arrowroot is beautiful. I am about to mix up a batch of my own formulation of deodorant, which I love. I will be adding calendula infused oil as well as witch hazel infused oil, along with some thicker butters to replace the bulk of the coconut oil, although I still do use some. Thanks very much for the video 🙂

I use home made deodorant with coconut oil, and had some cloths stained by it. Though now I just use it before I go to sleep, and wear an old t-shirt. No problem since, and it works long with me. I use it once every 3 days or so, (depending on how hot it is outside...). I will never go back to the store bought stuff! I only use the coconut oil and baking soda, with some drops of essential organic oil for a nice smell, not the arrowroot or cornflower, maybe that is why I had stains. It works either way. :) Much love, have a beautiful day!

Lovely recipe - I've made my own in the past, and it works well! Love the herbal suggestions A surprising option is to use plain Milk of magnesia - it is very effective (years ago they offered a line of deodorant, and toothpaste!) Just pour some of the thickest liquid in a small jar - add e. oil if you want, and use a dab! I wipe the threads of the lid occasionally, as it hardens as it dries.

Terri, I don't know if I just thought it really hard, or I've actually come back to comment here. Made this just as you've described here and it works brilliantly! I had a source for a small herbalist's pit paste locally, but she no longer makes products to sell --- and I am so thrilled that this non fancy recipe - even without the lovely rose petals and calendula - fantastic. The only think I did slightly differently is that my coconut oil already had some herbs infused in it. This summer I will infuse some calendula and rose and add some ground petals. Thank you thank you for happy pits and lymphatic system.

Agreed! Could you make videos for both tooth powder and dental soap? I used some dental soap a little while ago and loved it. It costs around $25 per little glass bottle and thats kept me from getting more :(

I haven't worn perfume now for over 15 years and could never go back to it. Essential oil blends are the way to go.

I'll give this a try, thanks. I haven't been using any deodorant for a few years now, I'd rather bathe more often than risk the poisonous modern stuff. Plus with the truth out these days than urban smog consists of 50% commercial aerosols products like "deodorants", "air fresheners", hairsprays etc, I'll feel like I'm doing my bit my way to live in harmony. Thanks for being a shining example to follow Danu. Smell you later! Lol

Another lovely video. Thank you. When I was young and started using anti-perspirant it quickly blocked the sweat glands under my arms and caused terrible inflammation and pain which spread to the lymph glands. You are absolutely correct. We should not be trying to stop natural processes but instead use natural alternatives that support the body and good health. Can't wait to try your recipe! Peace be with you and with everyone.

Thank you so much for pointing out the folly of spending so much on bicarb and coconut oil just to keep from having to mix it yourself! I've made my own deodorant like that for years; it's fun to switch around your essential oils, too. I like to use lavender in my summer version because it's repugnant to mosquitoes. Red cedar bark essential oil is also lovely and a bit earthy, if you like to mix earth smells with sweet florals like I do. Fleas hate it, too. Put it together with the lavender and you have a great deodorant to wearing on a camping trip. Your idea of leaving some without oil, for dusting powder, is ingenious. Anyway, Thanks for another great video; I just love your kitchen and garden. Your garden looks like a place where a person could sit down on a grassy spot, and just BE. Thanks for sharing it all!
