The projects are unending! 😂🤣 That's one of the nice things about retirement; you can stay as busy as you want 😉 Since we'll be at the condo in Metro Manila this next week, I'll be doing some shelving projects for the house kitchen at my in-law's house. I never experience 'retirement boredom' 😂🤣

I had a pool before and it was too much maintenance but then again, I was also not retired so might be different after I retire. 😊

Yes, that's true. Actually I look forward to taking care of it. Keeps me moving and busy. Might not feel that way in 10 years.

Good update. You should use that sealer that you used for your parking area on the part of the house at the end of the video that you said you was going to paint behind your water tank. Although your parking area is covered so not sure if it would work to keep the mold down. Was also curious about your pool filters. Our above ground pool has a filter at the pump so was wondering what size your filters were that are on the coping there between the pool and the house (you pointed to the two I believe). Congratz on 3 years in the Philippines to Wilma and you! How old is Prince now? He looks full grown already. You are really cranking out the projects now and can tell you are excited about seeing them get done! Thanks for the update, Wilma and Greg...Jim

Thanks for the info and advice. Filter is Emaux brand model MFV27. Prince just turned one year old on July 4th.

My girlfriend Belen and I have voted your home as the best we have looked at. I will arrive in Cebu Aug 18. I hope we can arrange to meet you both. We will visit Dumaguete. We are going slow to be sure of our relationship. But we do look at homes and such for planning for like 2026. Appreciate your site.

Wilma and Greg the tile is coming good, and as anyone who keeps renovating, things change. That will be a good deal with the bottle and the grout, and the gate will be coming along soon. Take Care 😊

Congratulations to both of you! Wow, 3 years in your belt 😁, the hubs and I, only been here a month. Fortunately, we found a beautiful house to rent and our landlady is Awesome. By the way, tiles are looking great and also thanks for the info you’ve been sharing it helps us more than you know for our future projects.

A hi from Randy (bald guy from canada)for Kelly. You should vlog Kelly's place sometime. When the wife and i were there he was heavy into construction and it was starting to look really good. Greg and Wilma your place is looking amazing.

Greg, I know you'll be giving an update on the new build next door, but what is the status of the property on the other side of your home where there's that large cazebo out in the field. I'm really curious to see if there has been any headway on it. Lastly, I just broke ground on my homestead in Pinamungahan Cebu on June 1st, just left last Saturday back to Korea for work. I will return at the end of July for follow-up on the property and every month after that. I'm just seeing if I can catch lunch with you and Wilma's to get your opinion and experience on my build. Just let me know, Beverly and I are excited to have the opportunity to finally meet.

The build on the other side has been stopped for a couple of months. The shell is built and wall around property, that's it. Yes, once in area, look us up.

Regarding the pool, was any thought given to adding a "pool sweep" or automatic vacuum? I have a Polaris 280 on my current pool in California and it reduces the need to manually vacuum. Never seen a pool sweep in PI so not sure if they are available. Thanks for the video. I enjoy following along and happy Anniversary!
@buildingthephilippines

I have not seen an automatic vacuum here. Maybe on Amazon. Appreciate the comment.

You need chlorine tablets,granules and muratic acid ....which all of these are expensive ....only chlorine products prices have dbld since covid ....muratic acid i use because im in the desert of nevada henderson city ....i think tropical water is different ... 50lb tablets at sams 180$ 50lb shock 200$ Acid 13$ gallon All these are enough fr a yr or so
@buildingthephilippines
@buildingthephilippines Месяц назад
What percentage is your chlorine, I was told 90% was banned in the US?

Love your videos and made a few inquiries about land to build a very modest house and 3-4 different sellers of land must think I am a trillionaire. They keep trying to sell me the most expensive and over priced land on the planet that I do not need. Waste of my time and theirs, but I guess I am learning that PI folks think all Americans hang out with Donald Trump. 8)
@buildingthephilippines
@buildingthephilippines Месяц назад
Your assessment, unfortunately, is correct. Often a foreigner will be charged higher prices just because your a foreigner.

Mate, your 4x4 only weighs as much as a car , tile the lot, it look stupid. If u don't, it won't crack the tilers they know what they are doing, it look great all tiled

Greg, you may be able to get poly urea vs epoxy, which is better anyhow.
@buildingthephilippines
@buildingthephilippines Месяц назад
I checked yesterday. So limited here, I found a rubberized concrete driveway paint. May try that.
@davidroach4370
@davidroach4370 Месяц назад
As a tiler, the way you are arranging your tiles in car port does not make sense, why are you not tiling the whole car port? The way you are doing it will result in the tile edges getting damaged on the lip edge due to the difference in height, you should seriously consider tiling the whole floor or you will end up regretting it.
@buildingthephilippines
@buildingthephilippines Месяц назад
@davidroach4370 thanks for your opinion, I addressed that question in earlier videos.
@TheBigBananaaa
@TheBigBananaaa Месяц назад
✳️ I would probably do the same as you to avoid cracking the tiles with the weight of the vehicle ✳️
@TheBigBananaaa

✳️ just need a garage sealant to paint the whole parked area a grey colour to look all colour coded ✅

@buildingthephilippines

Why, as that will never happen.
@SmeeUncleJoe
@SmeeUncleJoe Месяц назад
You don't lay tiles like that. You find the two centerlines and start your tiling from those lines ... ie the middle. Otherwise you end up with a horrible looking asymmetric amateur job. You trim the peripheral outside row and column equal amounts = symmetry.
