We explore how to make iron sulfate using a substitution reaction between copper sulfate and iron powder. This is an example of chemistry that can be done easily at home.
If you want to follow along with this experiment, you will need:
iron powder,
copper sulfate powder/crystals,
water,
filter paper/kitchen roll/coffee filter,
and some plastic cups or lab beakers to collect solutions and filter into.
This continues our exploration of iron chemistry at home. There is also a video on preparing iron oxide (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DvueaVkYSWM.html).
Thank you so much for watching and look forward to seeing you next time.

Have you tried with copper acetate?

Isn't this more of Iron Oxide and less Iron Sulphate? I believe Iron Sulphate is white in dry form? Just wondering. Correct me if I'm wrong. Much appreciate it. Thanks!

Perhaps as a result of the hydrous iron III sulfate or because there are other metals present? By the way, sulfur may change some metals into others, such as lead into gold or copper into silver. When the proper mixture is melted without burning the sulfur away, precious metals are produced. Therefore, the majority of metal sulfur compounds were mysteriously left without image or information so that someone like you can continue to be a slave and be used to work for and serve the richer people.

I think you're correct since it's very difficult to make the iron(III) sulphate without an oxidiser and conc. sulphuric acid as far as I can tell. I have made iron(iii) sulphate from iron(ii) sulphate using hydrogen peroxide so. He has definitely made the Iron(ii) sulphate though since it got that greeny-blue colour. I remember reading somewhere that you can oxidise iron(ii) with oxygen in the air but that forms iron oxide like you said. So probably a 50-50(ish) mixture of iron oxide and iron(iii) sulphate plus maybe trace iron(ii) sulphate maybe?

I too think this is either iron(III) oxide or iron(III) oxide-hydroxide

My copper sulfate is in similar condition. The impurities are basic sulfates. And a touch of dilute sulfuric acid to clarify…oh sorry UK! 😢Nevermind!
