Absolutely do it!! Get those other acres, build your fences, settle the babies, build a greenhouse and then build yourselves a love cottage with a wrap around porch, 2 rocking chairs on each side. Then use your extra time to rest and enjoy retirement, each other and all the babies. Go for it team J & L! You've worked miracles for sooo many, do it before you can't walk or lift your arms😊

@nancyj6869 I was referring to animals mostly... so they don't overload the JL. For instance, it's easy to overload ourself when running a sanctuary or rescue. I could care less how many properties they have... if that's what it takes.

My paws property was all red clay mixed with a little dirt in Outback Australia. In the 1960s, the government needed to get rid of no joke, 1000s of truck loads of dirt. To build all the roads in Queensland. My paw said I'll take all the dirt you can give,dirts expensive.He also got paid to take it away. He got enough dirt for five kilometres of grass. Which is unbelievable in the outback of Australia. His next generations have work through doing that to this day. Grass is worth more than gold to outback cattlemen.
Lester, there comes a time when we need to make changes, some large ones. Our dreams need to change as life does. It’s hard to change things that you are used to but you realize it has to be for the best of ones that are included in that change. We get older, tired easily, harder to make those changes the older we get. We can’t live in this day, we have to think of when we can no longer take care of what we once could. I know because I am at the point in my life where I can’t do what I use to. I am a 76 yr.old widow. After 56 years of marriage I find myself alone and have all of these decisions to make myself. Take time to talk things out, pray about what ever will be best for all concerned, and leave it in God’s hands! I will continue to be a part of y’all’s life as long as you are here for us. Y’all bring light in my life that has been so dim the last few years, and I thank you and sweet Jami for bringing so much joy to so many people! Love y’all! 🌺♥️🌺

Lester, I have watched you for a long time now and what you have turned it into, all the hard work you have put into it. And although the Longhorn Lester home is beautiful and the layout is great, you have worked so hard to make it look fantastic, spent a ton of money to make it the best for your animals, nature has worked against you the last few years. The animals are so much better off at J&L. The property is amazingly gorgeous and with some tweaking to handle flooding, you would be better off selling off the Lester ranch. Go for it, build your dream home and live happily ever after there. The cows and horses are so much happier where they are now, the others will love it too if you bring them there. You and Jaime would be able to spend more time together, enjoy the property more, as well as save time and money not dividing your time going back and forth to two places. It gets harder as we get older and now is the time to make those decisions before it’s too late. Don’t feel guilty about thinking about doing it, you always have to have a long range plan in mind about where you see yourself in 10, 15, 20 years and will you want to be able to or able to juggle everything you do now. At some point to have to say, I need to pull back on some things. Every time I watch you & Jaime’s videos, I get this overwhelming feeling that’s where you belong. I fully support the idea as someone who recently had to make some tough decisions about having two properties an hour apart and at 67 it was killing me, so I sold one of them and I feel so relieved but was very sad about it for awhile as it was my childhood home that my parents made into a mini farm from a cow pasture. They are gone now and I had to learn to let go as it was too much for me to do alone. All the best..❤

HALLELUJAH LESTER! you saw the light! You may just be in the talking stages but I'm in the praying stage for you both! You'll never retire having to run, fix and maintain 3 properties. I've been putting this beautiful JL landscape with your homestead idea in your and Jami's comment sections for a long time now. It's a wonderful solution and dream. You can deal with the flooding area at JL and you will succeed in leading that water elsewhere. Perhaps even think about reclaiming and eventually rectify your swampy forest area. You will never have the flooding like you get on the Morrow lands or LHL property. You don't have land erosion,your grass lands are full and plentiful and can have room for emergency temporary homing for any animals from Morrow Hill and LHL. JAMI'S GREENHOUSE AND GARDEN CAN BE BUILT ON SOLID LAND THAT WON'T ERODE! WIN WIN!

I am totally in love with the J & L property. It’s my favourite property. I think as we age we want stability and less stress. As beautiful as the other two properties are the flooding, poor grass at the one and erosion would always be in the back of my mind and mess with my peace. Always dream Lester. I LOVE your plans…..bringing all of the animals together at one location would make life so much better for you and them. LHL holds a lot of beautiful memories but it will never have the quality grass your babies need and the traveling from one location to another is going to take a toll on your mental/physical self as you continue aging. This part is a must Lester: when you build your cottage, wrap around porches to sit and look at your property. Oh yeah, and lots of French doors and windows so you can see from your couch inside too. French doors in the bedroom so you can step out on the porch.

I actually could see it Lester. I love LHL but I do often worry. With all these storms, droughts, and "what's going to happen next" scenarios, I worry that you, Jami and the babies are doing too much and are so far apart. It would be a blessing to one day for you both to just be HOME with the animals and doing your work together. It can't be easy and the JL is big enough for everyone. Work would have to be done; but that's everywhere, always. I know there are not as many trees as people keep saying; but shelters can be built. Trees with no grass is not as great as plenty of grass with shelters built in my opinion. I wish you the best of luck in your pondering. Love you guys, Mary

I LOVE ❤️ The idea!! Yes I would miss the river & rolling hills of LL, but the possibility’s of what you could do with JL ranch is amazing. Noise from the interstate (Built a sound wall, it’s done all the time), it’s not haunted,(Huge), it has growing grass😊 No erosion problems 😊 Jami can have a chicken house far from the house🐓, less predator problems 🐺🐾, AND MOST Importantly no more commuting which would be great for both you & Jami, less stress would be good for your heath. Lester, as a person of age 59 & office nurse ( 37 years) that has cares for thousands of elderly for 25 years I feel that it's a good thing that you are thinking of a plan for you future self! I watch you & Jami EVERY Day & even in those "snippets" I find it AMAZING that you both do so much hard work EVERY DAY!! ❤ I am excited to hear what Jami thinks. I think you could plant a bunch of trees in the front & back to buffer the train & cars from noise & viewing your property. Honestly Lester, I’m surprised it took you this long to think about this because of all the things that have gone wrong at the other property. When I saw you building the barns for the Longhorns I thought, “Man, why don’t they build a house here with a pool and greenhouse.” The JL is a gorgeous piece of property and there is so much potential. Plus you won’t be driving back and forth and fixing all the stuff at LHL. I believe you and Jami will find life to be calmer and peaceful at the JL. I believe there is enough forage for the goats to eat at the JL. I also think the birds would be happy with the shade and the grass. Just sharing my thoughts. You guys are the best!!❤
I pictured you building a home a while back. You've had soooo many issues at the LHL ranch that I could see you giving it up and getting to a more stable land situation like the J&L. You already know how it handles flooding and where the flood plane is and your babies would pretty much be safe. Just not sure about the winter stables for the horses. Keep dreaming Lester! Less stress and wear & tear on your mind, body & soul by consolidating.

Build a Barndiminium like Cog Hill farm! Move the animals from LHL Sell that property. Maybe then u could expand the J&L. Wouldn't have to run back and forth anymore. Love to see the ostriches run around the J&L.

I think it’s a great idea and you’d have room to grow and make it yours. Each property is unique in its own way and you’ve built each property to reflect you with the needs of the animals in mind. Being able to have comfort in knowing your property safe, not washing away with every rain, and you and your animals are safe is important to keep in mind. When you guys bought LHL I thought wow what a stunning property and you have turned it into an amazing forever home for the babies. However, the blank canvas that is the JL ranch has now become my favourite property. Not only because of the amazing grass and ponds that won’t collapse but you are so much happier when you are with your cows. They are clearly your passion and I’ve said it before but you are the reason I am sitting in Scotland mesmerised with each and every one of them. There is so much space for everyone plus the possibility of purchasing more neighbouring land is just perfect. So in short (😂) I think it’s a great idea to move to the JL branch 💜
Yes, Lester!..JL Ranch is a very nice piece of property with lots of acreage n lush greenery, to sustain all your beautiful precious babies!.. but nothing compares to the majestical tree filled hillsides, n access to the gorgeous Trinity at LHL's!! 💞💯👍
As soon as you acquired the J❤L property, I see you building a home, greenhouse, garden & create a huge pond - either where the horses are now - or after you purchase the 2 properties next door - My gut tells me your pond at LHL - was a nightmare from hell for the people you bought it from - & they decided to sell to someone younger & maybe more $ to dump into that pond…I’ve just been waiting for you to bring it up first - but I see you living a less chaotic issues of the LHL property…there is more gorgeous acreage to accommodate all your animals at J❤L…I see you not having to fight your property, every day, like you do @ LHL, which was a good stepping stone to finding the J❤L…no negativity here.
Do it!!! As we get older we want to make life easier. This is the perfect place to do it! Away from the flood zone! If need be it’s big enough for the other family to come if the sanctuary floods completely for good.

I've always thought that would be a perfect place for everyone. I can see the big birds running full force, except for Tina and Wanda. Get the Three Amigo snipped and be with the other donkeys. The goats seem to be content wherever they go. You two work hard wherever you are, one place, one feed up and you have the rest of the night for yourselves. Jami can have a much bigger garden and greenhouse and orchard!. I live my life with the "What ifs, what coulda been and If I would have". Life is so short, and we only live once, you follow your heart, you did once with Jami and it was spot on. Love you two and allll the babies.

As much as I adore LHL'S, the erosion scares me. Not afraid to say that I am a bit of a sensitive. For the past year I have not been having a positive & safe feeling. I think it's a splendid idea! Get Longhorn Lester's appraised and on the market. Use that to build a beautiful home with a huge bathroom so Jami will have more space to nurse babies. Lol Jami, do you remember what Cog Hill Farm looked like a couple of years ago? There was NOTHING on that land, not a single fence post. You're already ahead. 😊 And finally, neither of you are getting any younger. I'm not trying to be ugly or mean, just realistic. You're in a position now where you can build a home with the future in mind. Short stairs, walk in or even roll in showers, an outdoor shower, sturdy handrails, etc. These suggestions come from the voice of experience. In fact you might consider a secondary house for your future ranch hand (Lex) and his family. I love Longhorn Lester's. It's a stunning property and you have an extreme amount of sweat equity in it. But, y'all have outgrown it. You've been so darned successful as ranchers and farmers that you've plumb outgrown it! I could go on and on but I'll spare you. I'm excited to watch what transpires.

It presents the perfect opportunity to construct Jami's dream home 2.0, a magnificent greenhouse, beautiful green pastures and could provide a haven for all your beloved animals. Although Longhorn Lester possesses a certain charm with its lush trees, it unfortunately suffers from numerous pressing concerns such as severe erosion, a crumbling hillside, and rain runoff issues. Moreover, there is even a possibility that it may be cursed, which is quite alarming. The more resources and effort you invest in the Longhorn Lester property, the more complications seem to arise. While I cannot fathom the exorbitant amount of money and time spent on repairs and maintenance at LL, it would certainly be advantageous to invest most of your plans towards the JL property in the future.
