Who says there's gonna be a final battle? 😉 Well there will definitely be a finale. What this will look like, you'll have to wait and see 😁 And there are more characters to come so well see who the final boss will be 😁

Oh wow, what is that mocap?! That looks incredible! I mean this whole video is but the mocap I'm very intrigued by. I look forward so much to see what other redesigns you'll come up with in the future. These are soo, sooo awesome. I'd love to see your take on X and Zero and Sigma, and the Sigma Palace bosses^^

The mocap is created with the service called "wonder studio". It takes a video and analyses it and creates the mocap from that. It's super good!!! You'll get a blend file from it and even a video where you're replaced by a character of your choice. And yeah there will be X after all 8 mavericks. But everything else is still unwritten 🫣

Seeing all the mavericks I wonder what your take on X or Zero would be like! Seems like these are after Mega Man X, so I wonder if they are up after being destroyed, are they tougher/stronger then before? I wonder if they have any new moves or tricks?

I will definitely do X. If zero will be there, is still open. But I'm super excited to create mega man. Many fans ask for this and I need to finally make it happen 😁 Regarding their strength and abilities: I like to think that they are a little beaten up, so not really up to their former form. Also X still has their weapons. So they need to use other methods to keep up with their enemies. But that will be addressed at a later point 😉

Awesome breakdown!! So was it a mix of mocap and key framing? Did each limb have it's own armature or was there a single big armature? Or multiple armatures?

Thanks dude :-) Yep, I tried different methods and for the hand hit I used the mocap from Wonder Studio and for the walk I tried it with mocap too, but ended up using keyframe animation while using the video as a reference. Wanted to see what works best for me. It was one big armature in the end. I made it a bit more too complex but next time I will make it a bit easier :)

as someone who's just starting with blender, this looks like something from another planet. The amount of detail is insane! How long did you work on this?

Thank you! It's a lot of work for sure. It was roughly 4-5 months. But don't compare Our chapter 1 to my chapter 10. With time you'll get there. I was in the same position as you one day. So just keep creating and learning and getting better is unavoidable 😉

My main question is what the rigging for that has to be in order for the mocap to work. lol Must’ve been strenuous.

Yep that was the first time I used it and it was a bit complicated since my rig wasn't a typical human skeleton. But fortunately the wonder studio rig exports also IK bones. So I just attached my existing IKs to those and it worked pretty well 🙂 Damn, now I regret not showing the rigging 😁
