Welcome to renovating an abandoned ranch. I inherited and abandoned ranch and my plan is to fix what is fixable and rebuild the rest. It won't be easy but with a bit of luck and a lot of hard work we will have the ranch back to it's former glory in no time.
In this episode of the renovating an abandoned ranch series we are building a new goat pen. We are also getting our first goats on the ranch and we are finally completing construction of our barndominium. With everything going on on the ranch at the moment, we find ourselves in a position where we are making more money than we can spend.

You need a control pen. Basically like a trap where you can transition pigs to an isolated area between pens instead of direct from one to the other. Like a single square .

I wanted to do something like this but it would need to be quite big just because of the way the pigs move in the game. Would need to keep the layout so that the granary and windmill can still reach all pens as well but I think with some careful planning it can be done 😁👍🏻

Just make a tunnel between the pens. so the tunnel you open from the one side let the pigs enter, close gate behind the booty then open the front so they go out the other way, they are technically suppose to be narrow (as wide as the animal passing through) so that the animals cant turn around in it but instead just move through it.@@DavidMarksTV

They need to have a little refrigerated truck of some sort. That would make things more convenient and be an excellent way to dispose of excess cash

That would be really nice. They have a box truck but I don't think you can put meat directly into it. I haven't tried it though so could be wrong 🤔

might be a bit late but maybe you should have a barn inside or next to pigs. it will make it closer and easier to make sausages. if you put a gate in front of barn, they might just walk right in. or you could build a fenced walkway from the pigs to the barn.

I always keep the barns a bit of a distance away from the pens as the animals freak out even if you use the stunner. 😁👍🏻

The ear tags are how you name your animals!!!!!

Not naming them, rather control of animals, where i live in South Africa, those tags are for control of animals. basically when selling a animal you have to have a permit where it shows the animals tag number and person selling it and the recipient name and addresses. its a way to control stock theft. @@DavidMarksTV

I wonder if the game simply runs on a proximity for breeding purposes, ie are the pens close enough together that they can mate, due to the large hit box, even with a fence between them? You may have to have a large 'buffer zone' between the pens to prevent accidental breeding. that buffer could also serve as a 'double-gate' system for moving the pigs between pens as well.

Apparently that is a thing, I thought for some reason it got fixed but it looks like it didn't. 🤷‍♂️ Would need to build some sort of a buffer / sorting zone. Would just have to keep in mind that the granary and windmill will still need to reach the pens but definitely could be done. 😁👍🏻

Milk cows / goats twice dayily about 10am and 16:00 (4pm) Milk cow jug to 42 (full jug) = 3 cows = 6 Cheese per jug Milk goat jug to 40 (8 goats) =10 Cheese per jug
