One thing about the move animations that psychically move the attacking sprite is that it doesn't have to travel all the way over to the defender's sprite. For instance, double kick's animation could be changed to moving the sprite up and down to the same effect, thereby decreasing the duration and complexity of the animation.

If I may suggest a move, I’d really like to see Magical Leaf done, I think it’ll be a very fun one to try and could come out amazing, and I’d argue it’s fairly early game too as even some grass starters get it pre evo, examples being Snivy Lv16 and Sprigatito Lv13 If we are talking a late game move tho then we definitely need a challenging one to animate, a move that’ll be your hardest and best one yet, 3 options for this that i think would suit well are Judgement, Light of Ruin, and Draco Meteor Can’t wait for the next one!
I've been thinking of doing a fan game myself for a long time now, and honestly I think I would start with the very basic early moves that the starters get so they're out of the way. Things like scratch, bite, growl, and tail whip.
