I’m actually hyperventilating while I watch this video....leaving me breathless! I was shamed by my artistic attempts when I was 10 years old and I never took an art class again until I got into stamps because I knew I could not draw. Now at 62 I am finding new and satisfying ways to CREATE. Thank you for this gift of a tutorial...this brings me joy on so many levels.
Your post made me so sad and happy 😊 I have taught grade school and been a day care director for 25 years - just retired. I have loved to sew, cross stitch and have gotten into card making and hope to make junk journals. In all the time I worked with children I tried to never disappoint or discourage a child's work. That part for you makes me 😥 sad. I am happy for you that you are going to create now - in your "golden years" LOL. I just turned 57 ha, ha ,! I hope you have the time of your life!!
Mine is a similar story. Got into stamping because I didn’t draw. Through the years I’ve been encouraged to draw, but sadly not to my satisfaction. Now I get that gelli plate and stencils out and spend a day having the best time. I’m 64 and can’t wait to retire.
Again, mine is a similar story. Can't draw, but I've always loved to color. And I've had a knack with combining colors. So, started coloring during the adult coloring craze. Started watching RU-vid to get tips on that and found this. I've learned so much. And... I'm 63.
Brilliant. A joy to watch. Such a straightforward explanation. Terrific tutorial. I’m new to this and have watched many videos. This one is just what I needed to clearly understand the process. Most of all, you inspired me. Thank you.🙂
Thank you Teresa, I am so pleased to have found your videos. I love the way you explain the process clearly and calmly in your lovely English accent. So many of those I have been watching have been, while informative, too fast and with loud music over high pitched American accents. I'm a water colour painter experimenting with new techniques and ideas as I am now housebound during lockdown due to my age and health so have been exploring RU-vid for inspiration and ideas. I now know that I have been using the wrong type of acrylic paints and not planning the process enough resulting in messy prints and wasted paper. I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos and hopefully producing something I don't have to hide away!
I’m new to gel printing and as you kept going with the layers, I kept thinking, what a muddy mess this will turn out to be! I was happily wrong! This was so lovely! Thank you, I’m excited to try! Louisville, Kentucky USA
Fired up, Have been playing with Gelli plate very timidly but you have shown me the incredible potential of monoprinting. Clear , concise and well presented. Thank you for sharing your time and expertise.
Beautiful. I started my crafting/art journey only 3 yrs. ago. I just turned 70 and last night ordered my very first Gel Plate. You can bet I'll be giving this a go! TY, Teresa.
This is awesome! So informative. I didn't know you could put the paint directly on the plate, especially if you are going for a somewhat mottled look. Plus the tips on working from the front to the back and the reminder to do the lettering backwards- so helpful. Thank you!
thanks Teresa, for CLEARLY explaining this step by step process!! I have been terrified to begin, because even in books the explanations weren't clear enough! I am soooo excited to begin now!! Thanks again!
Fabulous video. I've watched many, but this shows me exactly what I want to achieve, one pull with multiple layers. I would love to see more like this with other colour ways, especially if you have ever done monochrome example, creams, browns, rusts? 😊❤
Great tutorial and such a nice result. Your order of layers, colors and scale of stencils makes perfect sense. The background has great texture and depth.
Wow...that was absolutely amazing. You did such a great job. I can't wait to try it. I just ordered my first gel press, it comes tomorrow. Will be ancious to see how long it will take me to get half as good as you. Thanks for sharing. 🌿💞🌿
Thank you so much for this demo ... It has helped me sort out why I have been having issues with multi layering. I saw somewhere else that you can use a medium for the last layer, instead of paint but not sure how that would work out. Thanks again!
One of the best tutorials for gel I plate printing. Pulling a single print makes it so much simpler as you’re not having to keep lining up your card etc!! Brilliant. Have to say my first attempt was my best second one I got impatient and didn’t let the silhouette dry properly but lesson learned, and don’t forget if the silhouette isn’t dark enough you can always replace the stencil and either ink or stencil paint back through.
Wonderful! I never thought you could pull so many layers at once. Have to give it a try. Thank you for a wonderful video instruction. Very clear. Very professional.
