It’s weird that you’re having this video today because a few days ago I just opened my bar of your chocolate lavender goats milk soap and was thinking to myself that I am absolutely in love with it! To me milk soaps lather like a shampoo. I used buttermilk (homemade) in soap and the lather is so luxurious and creamy. I just love it. There’s nothing like a milk soap!!! Love love love!!!

Yeah lavender smells great fresh from the plant but haven't never cared for the essential oil or fragrance so I'll have to possibly try something like this! You always have some of the best swirls I've ever seen!! Always a pleasure to see what you do!

Just catching up to your latest videos (I have severe Covid and it’s got me bedbound) and I’ve seen you make this one before, but man do those swirls look amazing every time! I saw so many cool patterns in these! The butterfly was my fave this time! My hanger swirls look Nothing like yours! I clearly need to develop The Technique! I only know about BeScented because of you and I’m so glad I placed an order with them because I now love their FO’s! Also like Natures Garden. I saw this one listed but didn’t think it sounded like a winner with that combo, but now I’m going to get it with my next order! I might grab a mold as well… I usually get mine from Cada, but would love to try something new. Thanks for all the great advice and inspiration! I always learn something new from you! Your soaps are always so beautiful! Would it be possible for you to make a video on how to mix colors? I struggle with how much color to use in proportion to the amount of soap, especially the darker colors. My brown always turns out a grayish color. 🤷‍♀️

Beautiful soap as always, Ellen! First time commenting but I’ve been watching you since before I started my soap journey 3 years ago! I have to agree with you the milk in oil method is a breeze! I finally worked up the courage to do it after watching you do this for years now. It took me long enough 😂 thank you so much! I made a lavender spearmint essential oil goats milk soap yesterday and my purple came out more brown (I tried to mix rose clay with indigo and it wasn’t successful 😂) & I thought it’s been awhile since Ellen has posted a chocolate lavender soap 😂 and here we are today! so it was right on time 🥰 sending positive energy from northern Michigan 💖

Hi Ellen!! I’m SUPER excited to try out this soap! I’ve only tried piping one other time. I’ve purchased my WSP Chocolate-lavender FO, which, btw, smells so delicious!!! I’ve purchased my Wilton piping tips you used, and I’m working w a BB 10” loaf mold. I was wondering, I noticed you did not fill your mold to the top w the soap batter, and it looked like you still had maybe an inch or so from the top of the silicone after you had finished piping. Can you tell me how tall your bars ended up being, including the soap piping? I’m just trying to figure out how much room at the top of my mold I should leave. I too like my soap to go through gel phase. So I’ll be covering it, and placing on a heating pad. Thank you!!🙏🏻❤

Hi Ellen, after receiving a bar of your chocolate lavender soap I too fell in love with that fragrance and did a take on a chocolate lavender soap of my own .I had some Chocolate Kiss and some Lavender Luxury fragrance oils so I blended my own scent. I wanted to send you a picture along with this comment but I can't figure out how to do it LOL

Here in Washington state I get a lot of soda ash. Do you have a way of getting rid of it? You are such a pleasure to watch.❤ thank you for making doaping videos.

I do deal with soda ash occasionally…. You can spritz the wet soap with isopropyl alcohol or steam the tops the next day.

That’s a really good question❣️ I’ve read that it’s just mineralized crust, and doesn’t change the lye concentration…

I would love it if you would make a video on how to use the piping bag to make the decorations on top of the soap. I have tried several times but I can't get the trace to be adequate. Either it's too runny or too thick. I can't make the pretty flowers. Help me

Hi Ms. Ellen, I've been soaping with the 2:1 method but my batches trace very quickly. When I use the default 38% I get a lot if soda ash. The steamer doesn't always work. Any suggestions for what percentage I can use for a happy medium? TYA.

Please help!!! I want to make some lovely simple lard and lye soap to give as party favors for my daughter’s baby shower. I’m so excited! My daughter was still a little girl the last time I made soap, so I’m basically starting all over. The baby’s a boy, so I want to make the soaps swirling with blues. Maybe even a navy or blackish blue (the baby shower theme is “Little Gentleman” 😊 The shower is going to be outdoors in November in Texas, so a bit chilly. We’re serving hot cocoa and cookies. So I’m thinking of using maybe indigo for the color (?) Maybe some titanium dioxide for a white (?) And I can’t imagine what fragrance to shoot for. Fragrances have always been hard for me. I thought about a baby powder scent, or perhaps vanilla, or almond. Something baby-ish. Then again, it will be Thanksgiving season, so maybe pumpkin spice or something. But this video caught my eye because you were using chocolate, and we’re serving cocoa. Can you imagine a blue soap that smells like chocolate? 😂 I truly would appreciate your opinion!

Lovely soap. I do have a question regarding sugars. Doesn't the goat milk have enough sugar in it, where you wouldn't have to add additional sugar to the mix?

I recently bought a slab mold (a few days ago) now I’m so scared to use it. To scale up, can I just put in my percentages and the total amount of soap the box holds which is 282 ounces in the calculator and that’s it? Thank you

Beautiful soap! What is the temperature of your oils+milk and the lye water? My soap thickens up so quickly once I mix, my temps are about 100-110f. Thank you!

CP soaps don't really have a shelf life, they are good for years and years..

Generally, homemade Buttermilk is the liquid proteins & lactose left after the fatty parts turn to butter. Then you can culture it to thicken and get great probiotic benefits.
