Making my Dream Leather Bag // Pt. 1
Every 5 years or so I end up making myself a new leather bag to use daily - I love wearing in a nice handmade leather bag, but every few years my needs change as most people's do! This bag will be my daily driver, a bag I can use to go to work every day but also take short trips and fit a few changes of clothing in.
In part 1, we start with figuring out the design and cutting all the pieces. We get the pockets cut out, the dimensions right, and rivet together the handle attachments. Stay tuned for part 2 next week!

I can't wait to see the rest of it. I love how u notched the leather for the D-ring. I'm sure there are more reasons, but that'll keep you from having to chase them. Simple but smart. I actually want to make a bag to carry a change of clothes, my lunch and whatever else I carry every day to and from work. I was thinking a soft leather that i could sling across my back, but I'm not locked in on anything yet. This one you're making might change my mind

I saw the Cape Cod label . I was stationed at Otis AFB for a short time in 1990 . The Cape is beautiful . Nice Leather crafting .

When punching a project to stitch, any suggestions on how to punch so the lines are the same front and back? I am holding my punching tool straight up but often the line is straight on front but on the back not so much. I love your videos! Thanks in advance! Barb

I would love to see a leather shopping bag design. One that folds flat. Flat bottom. For us who dislike plastic shopping bags. I am not as good (yet) at designing as you are with years of experience. I hate wasting leather.

If you use your japanese knife bevel down you'll get a much better angle of attack for the cut.
