4:50 I unironically started laughing because I understood what you were doing before the text appeared 😂. I had a tough morning and that cheered me up🤣
Bro if I had a computer and even a wink of the programming ability I would probably be in your same position, but I have always wanted a mix of games like the rpg elements of Skyrim mixed with the climbing of Assassin's creed, with the fighting/dodging of ghosts of Tsushima. Ik ik it's crazy but I would love to be in a medieval world we're the hero is op like that 😅 (don't for get the romance👀)
😁 it's all a learning process, no one starts with all the knowledge. You just have to do your best and eventually you could make your dream game! It sounds like an awesome idea :D
It's actually a really cool feeling! As much as I dislike working on it LOL it's definitely a good feeling to finish. I think after you create an AI you realize how dumb and straightforward they really are...
As gamedevs it's always cool watching and supporting other people working on other games! I checked out some of your videos and it looks really awesome!
Very very good devlog, especially for being your first! I really hope you'll keep the motivation you've got right now, trust me I know the feeling of jumping projects.. Game sounds interesting and I'll definelty keep myself updated - cant wait for the second devlog! 👏👏👏
I have wanted a game with teleporting for so long. I'm definitely excited to see where you go with this. I won't even be offended if you ghost us for a while.
@@transmattergamedev I sent you tweet a while back about being on a podcast to talk about your game not sure if you had seen it or not. Any I'm still interested to have you on if you want more info just reach out. Thanks
IMO just have a chapter system if u want to have a story with like 4 chapters with a boss at the end of each requiring u to use different heroes to get past different parts building up to a final boss
It's gonna be a tough journey fs but I believe I'm ready for it! This game isn't happening overnight but I'm ready to do whatever I can to finish this project. I hope you enjoy watching the game progress 😊
use animation notyfide, on the animation you use as a combo used when the animation looks like a hit, add the notyfy , that will activate, the next Combo.that is how I will do it sorry if it sound bad my English is not the best :D
Dude 15 Minutes You Talk Showcased Other Video Games Not U R Own Development Details 10 Sec Video Of U r Project WTF So Bad Dev Log Bro Next Time Please Make U R Development Progress Properly Dude ❤️👍
Id be happy to help you with this project. I am learning modelling on my own time, and i have alot of ideas. Wanna learn more gamedev. Hit me up if interested 😉
The other demo looks better because you're using ALS. Most people drop it because they haven't taken the time to learn the animation systems in unreal. Even if you don't use it as a base - you could use some of the transition logic to smooth that out.
I feel like this is gonna turn into another asset flip. Also y'know a dev log is supposed to highlight progress right? To me all I saw in this was a long rant (most of which was honestly just the result of a skill issue).
Sorry you felt that way! This is just how I thought best to show off my game. This is much less me trying to make devlogs for popularity or whatever, it's more of a way to help try to keep me on track. I hope you can understand!
@@transmattergamedev Yeah, I was just saying that less ranting and more progress (like in the 2nd one), makes for a much more interesting devlog and is more likely to intrigue a larger audience. A small amount of ranting in a devlog is healthy, and refreshing, as someone doesnt want to watch a devlog just to hear about every minute technical detail, and these rants add a little comedy, but too much just doesnt feel like a devlog.
Also sorry if this comment came off as a little rude. I just wanted to say that this doesnt feel like a very good devlog, and you may want to add more progress in the future, as thats what many other devs (like myself) come here to see.
Try make the batman counter like before and enemy atack an exclamation appears in you head to counteratack, or desarm an opponent you can adapt to your game like before an enemy shot you you press the counter and then you teleport behind hin and say "nothing personal kid"
Your Thumbnails - are Amazing, your game... hmmm, well, - but your RU-vid Thumbnails are Amazing !! How About this Ask your 'Fans' to design / Submit Blender Assets for the game ? You get 'Free' Assets for your game - and Fans feel like they are part of the process. ( Just give them a list of assets you think you will need - and see what you get. )
Question if you add more powers can it be some kind of cloning power where he splits into like 4 - 10 people each either using a different power, melee , or guns. i know this would be way to hard but nothing wrong with asking
hey man i am a solo developer as well and I would love to get in contact with you so that I could hopefully ask you some questions to help with my gamedevelopment
yes, there are people that dont like asset flip (using assets of other people), but they dont like it for the wrong reason, they think it is cheating, but the problem with it is that in the end indie developers never put the effort to make all these assets (animations, 3d objects, particles, shaders) match, if you are gonna use assets from other people please put the effort to keep it consistent
hey good job mabey you might be able to make a tutorial about the teleporting that would help and sence you did such a good job with your games i have liked and subscribed and turned on all notications
im kinda like u where i don't know much about combat but in gotham knights (ik big standard) When you press the attack button it slides you towards the enemy and plays an animation to make it more seamless. its a bad method but your character can teleport so it won't matter if you slide the character to the nearest enemy it's a nice way to get your combat going sorry if this didn't help
I've noticed, most games actually do this (for example I know assassins creed does). This was the system I'm attempting to implement but still trying to fully understand how to implement it. Thanks for suggestion!!
Maybe try having Alter's power be used In the combat If he has super strength /Punch the ground, make enemies call or throw enemies or objects Teleportation: Maybe when Alter touches something or someone he can make them teleport with him or just manipulate where they teleport.
Yahhh I plan on implementing things like that! I'm trying to get basic combat a bit more locked down first, but once I do extras like that will definitely be added 👍
So cool man I relate 100%. I started a Game and I am making a level with combat puzzles and a boss fight. I made great progress but I dont have enought time to make youtube videos. How do you managed to edit such a great video and make your game at the same time?? Amazing!
That's sounds awesome! I'm writing scripts as I program so I do a little bit at a time. Once I make a huge amount of progress I'll start editing a video which takes me about 2-3 days, then I upload it 😁. I like editing because it's a nice break from programming for at least a couple days.
Just wanted to let you know, when using a marketplace asset you need to check if you can have permission to legally use their content in your game. If you use the assets outside of their permissible use, you’re just stealing their content and can get in some serious trouble.
I have been! Thank you for the heads up, I've been making sure I'm not stealing anything because that would be such a headache I don't want to deal with LOL
I think moving super fast sounds cooler because you can do a lot more with that! But I've also been a lifelong fan of the flash so maybe there's a little bit of bias 😅
Oooh what kind of stuff are you working on ? I think I'm a bit wary to bring on other people in development due to my spotty record LOL. I'd love to see what kind of works you're working on though !
Right when you mentioned more linear progression I tabbed out of Unreal to mention Shattered Dimensions; but the video beat me to it. Honestly still a banger game even with the dated controls.
Man, you talk about Marvel's Spiderman and PS4s as if they was decades ago lol. To me it just feels like yesterday. I thought you were going to talk about at the very least Spiderman 2 on the PS2/GC (and I was already an adult when those came out!). Great way to make me feel old lol. *EDIT:* Ya know, to be far, other than "speed" "strength" "invulnerability" "invisibility" "telekinesis/mind control" and "travel" (which constitutes your time travel, teleporting, flying, etc), there's not alot of things you can introduce for a superhero that would be original anyway. You'd have to delve into overly-specific powers, which is always lame on any superhero you want taken seriously, and only really works well on joke characters ("Captain Hindsight to the rescue!"). If it's not broken, don't fix it, so don't worry about unique super powers. The quality of the story, writing, and character profile or personality is what makes a great superhero, not the powers they have. It's more about how you weave whatever powers they do have into their story.
Ahhh I'm so sorry 😅 I didn't mean to make the game sound old.. But yah I hear ya! At this point basically every possible power has been used in some way shape or form, quality story and writing is definitely important to make the character the best!
I loved every part of this video! I hope you are able to make the tech demo! Also cool to see I wasn’t the only one to watch spiderman when i was young, I thought i was the only one!
