i’m still in the super early planning stages of my story. i’m talking sketches and endless notes stage 😭 but this was so fun to watch! one of my fav “first graphic novel” videos for sure 🤝🔥
Finding your trailers was what initially caught my attention to your series and I think they were pretty well done! Respect to you for all the hard work, must be incredible to finally be able to hold it in your hand!
I love to see how others are tackling self-publishing and crowdfunding! I am also on a similar journey. Congrats on completing your first book! That feeling must be so awesome!
Awesome video!!! I'm currently in pre-production with over 150 pages of concept sketches, and finding these videos excited me to keep going. It's nice seeing new creators who are passionate share knowledge!
Congrats on publishing your first graphic novel!! This video has been incredibly inspiring as someone who recently had an art epiphany that I desire to tell stories instead of create static standalone art pieces. It’s been fun to research about comics but seeing this video about your experience in telling your story YOUR way is very moving. Thank you for sharing your process!
Great video, very good insight in how you put together your graphic novel. Very helpful information as I to just finish my first comic, just being a 20page comic issue though. My comic is called Twister: A New Awakening issue #1, and I am not just figuring out how to market and promote. If you could make a video on your process or things you have used to market you graphic novel would be so much helpful. I will for sure check out your graphic novel, the story sound very interesting.
ive watched this like 3 times now because your editing and personality are hilarious! youre gonna get big one day and im glad to be here now 😌 anyways the advice is so helpful and i actually want to buy this book so bad, i love apocalyptic settings and the gruffy man, kid duo 😩
This video was super informative and helpful! I’m a small time content creator and have had a urge to write an animated series forever. As the years progressed, I decided a graphic novel/comic might be a more attainable goal so I really relate to your story! I’m still a long way from making that a reality but stories like yours make it seem alot more possible. I’ll have to check your book out soon and I’ll comment once I’ve done it! Thank you man, got my sub!
Great stuff! I think more realistic backgrounds and characters would be good if you’re trying to convey a more sinister feel, but the story is awesome!! Well done
congratz! it takes some time at the beginning, but I've personally noticed an increase in traffic/readers thanks to content marketing and making these videos
I have a question: I'm creating a graphic novel in Clip Studio Paint. When I'm done with it, it'll roughly be around 200 pages. How do you save or work on a file that has so many pages without slowing the program down? Do you only do a certain number of pages with multiple files and then combine them all using a different program?
i use photoshop and each page is its own file, PS has an option to combine files into a PDF which i then touch up on adobe acrobat for page numbers, sizing, etc
working on graphic novel as we speak. The colouring thing DID ANNOY ME. you wasted so much time ha ha but my panels will be painted like an oil painting.
@@crownobsidian ha ha ha - oh no - each panel would take 5 hrs or so because they will be paintings - but with my cartoons and drawings I normally ink - and when I ink I simple magic wand inside every em area on the page that’s a colour expand the lines out 2 pixels and then colour that area - in seconds with flat colours - only thing is any area like the face - hair clothes etc can’t have a break in the lines it needs to be a closed space - BUT ANYWAY - SUPER QUICK
@@crownobsidian I seriously struggled to find a half decent tutorial - so I’ll make a quick one myself - using your character - and show u how quick in real time u could colour a panel I’ll post it tomorrow
I’m in my last year of uni and I should be writing my dissertation and working on my major design project but instead I got HIT with inspiration for a graphic novel and it’s all I can do and think about 🥲 Going to watch all your videos on this (and read the book)
Also I’m studying design and illustration so I use photoshop a lot and honestly just use it how you want (but getting the aspect ratios wrong- that’s the real crime)
