wow i just stumbled on your video's. years ago before the internet i went on a search like you did i became fascinated by the concept of measuring something you can't see or touch, or understand. i enrolled in the comunity college and studied calculus and found out how they found the universal values of gravity, and such. well i came by an old lathe, and just to save cash on material cut up some local black walnut logs, and decided to build a wooden wall clock. i worked on the clocks for about four or five years like a man possessed and put out about a dozen clocks. when i got a clock that was about as good as i could get i stopped. i have that clock and it is a joy as it just goes on every day telling me the time. i have to adjust it some because it is a simple thing only has a wooden pendulem, which makes it cool to see how wood grows and shrinks each year. anyway i bought a watch maker's lathe, years ago and couldn't figure out how it works. you see i did a machinist appprenticeship years ago, and have always worked in machinist trade. finally i found someone to show me how to make my watch maker's lathe work. I may just start to make a watch. just saw your first video this morning. thanks. very inspiring. I think we can be friends.

The best moment after servicing a watch movement is when it comes alive. I can imagine how it is when your own made watch start beating for the first time. Well done.

Oh right so you are saying its easy just buy a couple of intro kits off ebay and no worries. Yeah right, its a life long job, you get the best you can just before you drop dead :) Great to see people taking on the mantel

... To call it a watch dont you need to make at least the main plate...? keep it going and do the rest ;) you are in the right track!!! PS Next time that you came to Switzerland - La Chaux-de-Fonds or Le Locle call me... i work here and made my Watchmaker Constructor course in CIFOM and can give you some points if you need it Chers
