I recently had a dumb idea I can't really shake. You know how Dark Eldar are pirates in the 41st millenium? How about you paint them as literal pirates. Like Pirates of the Caribbean color scheme, painting the armor panels on the boats like wood and the "sails" as literal white sails etc. Maybe give the Archon a peg leg.

I've not tried it myself, but I've read that when airbrushing metallics you really want to start with a glossy undercoat. Gloss varnish or a glossy black paint would work. The smoothness of the gloss helps the metallics look much better when shot through an airbrush.

I've seen someone else doing a nmm tmm hybrid by mixing metallic paints into non metallic paints like you would mix in your highlight color on nmm to keep lightening it... but with glitter, other than that it was basically a nmm style of painting. Also if you really want to push those nmm highlights with tmm think about using one of the wax based tmm paints for your very brightest of highlights after all other washes and varnishes are down.

As someone who first army was Dark Eldar through all of 6 edition, +/- 5 and 7th, your army is god tir awesome! Those vehicles are perfect and not gonna lie as a 16yr old I really wanted those metal minis but could never afford it. I think you need to go more Grimdark with the furniture choices. When I think Dark Eldar furniture, I think of furniture made of living people trapped in a constant state of suffering. Living trophies of horror. I feel like your choice is a little too regal. Not to say it’s out place but just that it needs more gore. Other than that great job!

My favorite metallic recipe is base with silver then raging sea speedpaint highlight with hive dweller purple speedpaint shadow. then use a metalic to hit or the edges

really love this series! I'm super happy you decided to go with a composite army theme, makes it really interesting to look at and makes it feel like a warband of different factions working together on a raid also definitely expected to see some male prisoners, drukhari seem like the type who enjoy a little variety
