I rebuilt my BMW M140i with BMW M2 parts and now its time to make it one of the fastest BMW M140i's out there! I have already had it remapped at ‪@MalloryPerformance‬ but its time to push it even further with a hybrid turbo and high pressure fuel pump. I am aiming for over 550bhp but in a RWD car its difficult to put the power down which is why i am going to install a limited slip differential! Lets see if that helps...

You should get the gearbox mapped with XHP Flashtool (do it yourself with a mobile, all the B58 owners are running this!), It will defo will help with your figures and there's a new 'Drag Mode' which just released this week which will interest you!

I was here before the S5 when you were modifying your first 1-series, and I have to say this "140i" is the best car you've made yet by far. Because it's that awesome. If BMW made this "hatchback M2", I would buy that over a real M2.👌

Not sure on the diff story Matt. The M2, M3 and M4 F87 F80 F82 use a differential which is not a permanently LSD but rather works electronically steered bearings engaging clutches in order to make it 0% - 100% LSD based on driving conditions. Its called GHAS (Geregelte HinterAchs getriebeSperre, or Controlled rear differential Lock) and its controlled through CAN-bus. Is yours not the M-performance LSD available for F20/F21 and so on?

Matt, my day was absolute shit, my 2009 TTS (600+ bhp, executive package) got rear ended by some chick on her phone, the car was claimed totaled, seeing your video upload was the only thing that saved me from ending it all. 8:10 "Drifting, not probably what you first thought of when fitting a Diff". Actually that's exactly what I think of the moment I hear the term "Diff" in any sense. LOL. It's one of the most important mods anyone can do for their rear wheel drive car. Put in a "Limited Slip Differential". Or "LSD". Unless of course if it already came with one or had one installed by the previous owner. Make sure you look up "How to tell if you have an open diff on your car". Unfortunately a lot of people don't think of it right away and then some think that because they have a rear wheel drive car they should be able to drift it. So they try and when it doesn't work get upset because they just didn't know they needed to have that type of part to do it.

I had a Quaife LSD fitted to my 335i and it made it 10 times better at getting the power down especially after being remapped. Changing the diff was easily the best way to give this 140i faster acceleration. Tuning it is pointless if you can't get the extra power down.

Beemer looks mint and the LSD is a good mod and well thought too..get your V-Box on them both same driver same skill set on the 0-60 as the A45 isnt a slug....1/4 mile is a big race and HP always wins...

I’ve a spooled ford 9” on my drag car . Puts power down equally. However rubbish on corners. Most drag racers use rear wheel drive . Take a look at “Red Victor” runs a quarter in the sixes . Road legal and rear wheel drive … keep up great work 👍
