What a beautiful lake. Just enjoying that is plenty enough. Catching a couple nice fish is just a bonus.

It was indeed a nice one! Smaller than I expected, and certainly deeper that I planned, but a beauty to be sure!

Very nice seeing you on the water again. Just a thought here from the Crazy Cajun, could you put the weight in your open pour, say, a little upward before you pour so one weighted end is completely overdue and the other end is added after your cooled? Love all the colors but my favorite is the root beer plum. How about green pumpkin with that chartreuse bottom? Bob whispered to me that he needs more attention. GBWY.
@SDGCustomLurecraft
@SDGCustomLurecraft Год назад
That Bob… he’s a needy one… You could definitely pour a weight into the worm, yup! I’d skin pour a thin first layer so the weight has plastic to lay on, then let’re fly!

Just some food for thought, I got tired of loosing nail weights. So I now keep a roll of solder in my boat, yes its expensive too but I am not buying weights as much as I was.

I have to ask, the plastisol you use is the clearest I've seen and virtually no bubbles that I can see. Do you ever have to use a vacuum chamber ? I may have to look into Bait Plastics. Thank you for your videos.
@SDGCustomLurecraft
@SDGCustomLurecraft Год назад
It’s fantastic stuff man, nothings even compared (but that’s just my opinion). I’ve tried a few other brands - wasn’t impressed. I never have to vac it straight from the bucket… they vac it before they finish the packaging - it’s that good right from the 5-gallon. Remelt?… that’s, of course, a different story - I always vac remelt as it sits in my shop collecting moisture. I have 2 1-gallon jugs I fill from the 5 gallon so it’s more accessible. If they have sat for a while… may have to vac it, but even then, I’d say that’s 50/50. I’ll add too… I’ve vacced other brands and even in the chamber the bubbles collect and bust better with BP, it’s crazy. They other stuff foams up and the bubbles don’t mix together… I end up scooping them off and throwing away material. As long as I vac my remelt at or above 340/350… the bubbles rise, join together, and bust with BP… no material loss. Stuff is awesome.

I'm sold, I'm going to try the 242. It doesn't say on the website if it's floating or sinking, I'm guessing it's floating ?
@SDGCustomLurecraft
@SDGCustomLurecraft Год назад
@@dirtdawgjim1179 yes and no… it’s neutrally buoyant so it doesn’t float hard or sink hard. If I make stickbaits (no salt) and fish them with just a hook, it’s buoyant enough to float the worm even with the weight of a small hook. Yet… if I make a shaky head worm, once on the bottom it will stand up for a long time, but eventually “sink” and lay down. It’s like the best of both worlds, at least to me… enough floating power to give a ton of action but will still lay down and fish on the bottom if need be.

What kinda tools do you use to clean off the flashing from your lead pours?
@SDGCustomLurecraft

@SDGCustomLurecraft
@SDGCustomLurecraft Год назад
LOL, he just bought a blues guitar with some birthday money… I too hope it’s coming!! Re: the sprue, if it’s a single color it goes back in the cup and gets remelted. Some do the same with laminates but too much of that and you just get “brown”, HA!
