I have watched May May do this folio. Very good. She is an excellent teacher. And extremely talented lady. You have done a great justice following this process. Thank you for sharing.
This is a great project and your tutorial was awesome. I love hearing your thought process. I can see how this would be great as a travel folio made in advance. Thank you for sharing.💜🐞
Ceri I come to you from Nicole’s channel and I absolutely love this folio. I have made two of them but I still haven’t put in the signatures. I also started watching May May’s channel and she just made a one inch spine folio similar to this. Thank you for the instruction on how to sew in a signature. Nicole is a patient teacher and I find you are as well. It helps to see things visually and I loved how you explained how to sew it in. I love the charm idea.
Ceri i have followed Maymay Made It for several years now. She is a lover of all things paper. I had the extreme pleasure of meeting her down in Clayton Al last year. She has made many different folios and i love them. I saw immediately how these folios could be turned into interesting art books, tag books, and junk journals. I am going to share your video with her as i know that she would love to see it. I hope that you will take the time to look at some of her other folios and albums.
It was a great make from MayMay and I loved Nicole’s version, I did check with Nicole and she was okay with me making a video of it, we’re all about sharing good ideas and giving credit where its due.
Thank you!for shering this video! I am starting again crafting ,after a very bad time in my life ! it give me joy to see your video,s! My motivation( for life and crafting) is back! A big thank you! Mariëtte i am from the Netherlands!
You bring me such joy during my summer vacation. As a new paper crafter, you make it easy to follow along. I love waking up to a new video and crafting with you. Thank you,
Thanks Ceri, love that. Being a teacher I've tried most brands of glue sticks. After some time they all dry out - unfortunately. So now If I use glue stick to 'hold' something, I also generally use PVA wet glue. Thanks again.
This is so great I think I will use the idea for a journal and instead of the waterfall I’ll put a folio in that spot. Sort of like a folio in a folio.
Ceri, i had to pop in another suggestion for the closure of the folio. Maymay uses self adhesive magnets for her enclosures as do i. Now please please please make a folio using a variety of gel prints to decorate the outside and inside of the folio :)
Loved this project. I've made something similar before but had no idea what to call it. A gluefolio is a perfect title for this. I see so much potential for this project in my life! You, Nicole & the lovely maymay have truly inspired me today! Thank you so much!
Maymay was one of my first discoveries when I found this wonderful new hobby of paper crafting! I can't wait to try making one of these-maybe be able to make them for Christmas gifts! Thanks, Ceri!
Love this project! I also started out watching Maymay. A tip for your stubborn tree stump. Hammer in a couple or more copper nails. It will kill it completely and make it easier to dig up! x
Thank you for sharing this idea. I'll give it a try... Doing journals like this, I start fixing the signature from the outside in with a really long thread. I end up with the knot on the outside and a lot of thread to wrap around the journal. (Signature fixed / closure installed at the same time 🙂)
Hi, I came from Nicole's channel to watch how you interpreted this folio. You are so precise (like me). Sloppy folds, uneven edges and bits of "dries clear" glue leaks leaving shiny places simply will not do for us. 😉 (✿◡‿◡) Happy to find your channel today.
Lovely, enjoyed your tutorial, I saw Nicole's video yesterday and made 2 of these, think these are so quick and easy to make. I'll check out the May May May video as well x 😊
Ceri, I watched the part of the video where you put this booklet together. Your instructions were so helpful, I paused the video and started making one of my own. I've completed the structural pieces of the booklet and I've printed out five pages to use in the signature. I don't think I care to do a waterfall section so I'll explore RU-vid to see what else would be nice. Ceri, you are a natural born teacher! Thanks for this video. I look forward to completing my own booklet!!
I'm thinking about putting a notepad in place of the waterfall. That's the very back of the folio, so it should be easy to write there, with no bumps from paperclips or ephemera to get in the way. I'll run it through the sewing machine to attach the pages before gluing the decorative paper on the back, and that way the line of stitches won't show on the back side of the folio.
The RU-vid is may may made it. She has an entire playlist of these folios in various sizes and they are used by her and a lot of the makers as photo albums
A waterfall is just another arrangement for pages, you can use them for anything, from attaching photographs to writing surfaces, you could even glue images to them or do small pieces of art.
I’m also based in the UK, there are some options, you could purchase an inexpensive 12x12 pad because when you decorate you’ll see very little of the background, if you have a shop called The Works near you they’re pads are approx £4. If you eat cereal some of those larger boxes of cereal are made up of large panels of thin card.
I have made two of them after Nicole showed us how to do them. I put two signatures in one (crazy, I know, but I had to as I ran out of room for the photos I was adding). I am glad you had bits that weren't lined up when you did it as it made me feel better about mine. Nicole does everything so perfectly (she is awesome and I love her to bits). I was happy to see that tiny bit you had to cut off. haha. Silly, I know. They are a lot of fun and after I saw Nicole's I went and started binge watching all the folio videos that MayMay Makes has done. Very cool. Love your folio! Love the papers you chose (I did mine with white cardstock, then covered them with coloured papers).
Thank you I like to keep things real on my channel and if I mess up I don't edit out as I think its a good learning experience for those who make similar mistakes. Nicole always impresses me with her natural accuracy
@@CeriGriffiths Nicole is amazing! You are also great with making things look great too. I line things up and try really hard and they are almost always crooked. I am learning that it is my trademark now haha.
@@CeriGriffiths You inspired me to collage. I didn't have any people in my sticker/ephemera collection, so I bought some. I mention you in my channel Temu haul.
