You could make one by hanging a small lit upside down in a pot and putting in a drainage pipe to get the water out. On top of the pot you only need another lit, also upside down, so that the water drops inside the small lit
I learned a DIY version of this in school a couple years back. Boil some water in a pot. Meanwhile, hang a cold tile, by an angle and let all the steam collect and condense on the tile and let it drip into a bowl. (My teacher used legit drain water for this experiment yuck)
basically get a big metal pan and put water in it, then float a big bowl on top of the water, in the pan. Then cover the pan ad bowl, with something that has a flat bottom and fits perfectly on top of the pan, then put ice water in another container on top of the cover. |________|
Well it is worth the price seeing as 97 percent of the Earth's water is salt water and one day all the fresh water will be gone so... I guess it is worth it. It will most likely go down with time though.
In this video you used a $400 wood powered distillation device but I'm curious could you build your own and more so I'm curious is there a way you can build a device in which you would be able to both translate ocean water AKA salt water into both drinkable water while at the same time being able to harvest the salt from the water because if you were in a survival situation you would be able to use the salt 2 flavor your food while at the same time you would need the water for survival
Old style water distillers allow you to capture both, this method probably left behind salt at the bottom of the pot too. The only thing you should do is run the water through a sieve or maybe a coffee filter to get rid of sand and feathers and stuff like that.
Andrew Reid take a cooking pot. Fill it with water. Hang a piece of cloth above it in an angle and boil the water. Thats it. The water vaporizes and drips from the cloth into whatever jar you put under it. Tadaaaa fresh water
@Jhonnie This method of filtering water removes everything, including the nutrients from the water you need. Distilled water is not a replacement for filtered drinking water.
Just be careful not to drink too much distilled water, it will go to where the sodium is in your body, usually your brain, so your brain will expand and cause hypo netremia or however you spell it. But its only if you drink ALOT.
Huh? Pretty much everything you eat has sodium in it, so you'd have to be solely drinking distilled water over a long period of time for that to happen.
dudes great video! Distilling ocean water does not take out all the harmful bacteria, and oils enough for me. I would still need to run the water through a sand and charcoal filter a few times and then distille it. Great video.
That looks great! One thing i did notice is that it is still losing a lot of steam so in theory, you would be losing a little bit of water. Would there be a way to counter that? Maybe turn the heat down although it would be slower to distill, you might get more water in the end...
You should really try to recreate the distillery using items that a average person can aquire in their local stores and compare that to the 400$ distillery. 400$ distillery vs a homemade one.

The video was about creating a clean water supply, not about creating an EMF. So reverse osmosis would make sense more so than reverse electrolysis but that's not what he stated. This lead me to deduce he was implying creating pure water via combining hydrogen and oxygen.

Cheaper way is to take a large water container that has flat sides cut out one side and place a can in the water container place salt water around it. Put plastic sheet over it all Put a dip in the plastic towards the can. The sun will make condensation and you collect the salt free water in the can.
Learned it like this, put water in a pot, put a plastic bag on top to catch steam, then wait to cool down and then pour in toilet to avoid water bills.

scientists honestly should find out how to do this on a larger scale, I know it isn't easy, but it is something that can be done on a smaller scale so it could be done at a larger scale. Just image converting salt water, I mean look at how much of it we have.

Did y'all know...that they have them on cruise ships? They normally have 3 or 4 giant water containers. That store salt water from the sea or ocean. The water runs through a giant vapor unit. Which processes it to. Drink water, shower water just usable water. Of course it still runs through another purification system. And that's how the ship haves water
That's called double distilled water. Yes, theoretically it should be cleaner, and it should be practically pure water at that point, but more often than not it's used for chemistry experiments rather than just drinking.

You can freeze nitrogen, at which point, it would be solid nitrogen, not liquid nitrongen. As for Aquarius, "ice" is just another word for solid water, with what we call water being liquid water. Every element has a gasseous, liquid and solid state.
