I tried something new and learned how to sew a Puff Quilt! This turns out super cute, but there are a few extra steps involved- and I show what worked for me best in the video. A big thank you to @Crafter's edge for sponsoring this project!

My biggest tip: You will end up needing more puffs than you think! But once you get the hang of stitching those puffs it's just a repetitive process and super fun!

This looks much easier than other tutorials that sewed closed, then cut back to stuff and hand sewed back closed again.

Yes, I found the double stitching very time consuming. So I tried a short cut and am happy to share it worked!

Thank you for super fast instructions! I have been wanting to make a quilt like this but honestly, the photos I've seen and the long (LONG) blog posts just felt intimidating - and I have a near excellent sewist (as in skill level - I've been sewing for over 20 years). I am going to pick out fabric today for a quilt and use your method. I also sew without pinning things together, it is just so much faster. Lol

I watched a few videos and was super scared to start too!! But without pinning it the blocks come out pretty neat and the puff covers up a lot of inconsistencies! I’d advice you to go bigger though- my finished squares were 3.25 inches- I started with 5 inch squares!!

how big is each square cut, the top square and the bottom square....it's such a cute idea, came out awesome

It will be fun to know exactly how many puffs in a row and how many rows?? I have to do one now for a gift!

Totally legit question! I ended up miscalculating how small the puffs end up, and had too few puffs and had to go back and cut +sew more puffs! I was thankful I had enough fabric remaining to do that. Each finished puff will end up being the size of the smaller square - 2 seam allowances. For me that was 4 inches- 0.5x2 = 3 inches each. Hope this helps!
