Perhaps one of the most underrated and forgotten about workstation synthesisers. Alesis made some great stuff back in the day. My first synthesiser was a Micron which I’ve still got but I was too young back then to have the money to own an Andromeda A6, Fusion or Ion. Great video!
Very nice. The Alesis Fusion is very capable and my only workstation type synth, and have the 6HD, the keys are nice as well. Very nice demo of a classic.
No matter how people make their version of Oxygene 4 by Jean Michel Jarre with the use of instruments etc that were used in the original, it doesn't sound the same because you don't have the same synths, keyboards and equipment etc that were used in the original Oxygene 4.
I remember debating, ROLAND jd800 or ALESIS fusion, I landed up with both. WOW you did a great job, it`s now ten years later, I don`t know if you are still playing but you should do some VANGELIS.

No te creas... es el más barato y simplón de su especie. Si quieres ver chismes realmente potentes, mírate un Korg Oasys o Korg Kronos, o un Yamaha Motif XF
Pues es muy mejorable... pero me apetecía simplemente hacer una demo del Fusion; ahora hay muchas en RU-vid, pero por entonces había pocas que mostraran el potencial del "poor's man workstation" ;-)
late to this video but: VERY, VERY GOOD JOB. You obviously know your way around a synth and board. I'm not a Jarre aficionado and I just stumbled onto this YT vid looking for something else (WWW "wonder- where- what?": you intend to research "A" and end up investigating "Z") but since I have an 8HD (since mid 2006) I thought I'd compare this to the real thing- KUDO's! It reminds me why I really like my Fusion - it is a "beast" and true workhorse (yes, with warts - my new Montage 7 wishes it had a sequencer a la Fusion)

Richard Turner I recorded the bass on the sequencer together with the other instruments (and of course with the aid of the internal metronome). I omitted that step in the video, though.
This is great work! Do you have a link to the sounds? I've tried to follow the tutorial but can't get the same results. This video made me get a Fusion :)
Perfect. Looking toward to play both hands. Me? I try to play JMJ for 2 months. Still one hand. What about the rhytmics played by the left one? Is there any recipie to teach myself quickly to play both?
The whole thing is cooked inside the Fusion from scratch. Internal sequencer, internal ROM samples and some sounds created on the VA engine. I think the sequencer is good enough to make almost anything with it. And don't forget it is 32 midi tracks (Motifs and KORG have 16 midi tracks only!)
José Ángel Morente for me it's the worst seqencer ever... editing is a nightmare, especially when for skipping/moving/etc you have to click enormous times and dial rotary on and on.... :( Maybe you could send a short movie with some hints using this "seq"? Like quantising, pattern making, group edit etc?
@@IMPREZARIAT the fusion was built off of the MPC 5000 platform, fusion and the MPC 5000 are basically the same. The fusion has more synth related functions compared to the MPC. But notice the MPC has the same VA synth as the fusion. They both use the same ram. They both have a 8-track digital recorder built in.
You who are playing Oxygene 4 in this videoclip I don't want to mention you or other guys who have posted videoclip playing Oxygene 4 from their Synths/keyboards etc is playing that track bad, but it sounds not the same as the original even though which Synths/Keyboards, music programs etc you are using, so it shall sound the same as the original. But I like your version of course ☺
Sure. It's a hard job to recreate the original JMJ sound. Not even JMJ himself is able to do it. Check his video "Oxygene in your living room"... He used the original equipment and yet wasn't able to replicate the same RMI lead sound... by using the RMI ;-)
