I remember watching this movie in the movie theater I worked at back in 97 when it first came out at dressed in a black suit to promote it and everyone thought I was the manager.😆
Men in Black is officially 25! Stinks i missed it in theaters I think my dad got the vhs Highest grossing film of 1997 making $250 million Didn't know for the longest time it was based on a Marvel comic book that ran from 1990-1991 Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith make quite the team up battling aliens from outer space to keep Earth safe and in the dark This was also my first introduction to Vincent D' Nofrio, Rip Torn, and Linda Fiorentino Director Barry Sonnenfeld perfectly blends sci-fi, action, and comedy Terrific practical and digital effects by Rick Baker and by Industrial Light & Magic Great music by Danny Elfman and Will Smith's music video is catchy Loved going to that attraction at universal studios with mom and dad Pretty nice it lead to a cartoon series on the WB and 3 sequels but the original is still the best
The ads really give it a nostalgic touch. I remember going to see MIB in the cinema tho I don't think it was a premier. The first movie was so well rounded and the cast was on point. Always a great watch anytime it's on.
David Shwimmer from Friends was offered the role of J and declined it which I'm glad he did. Even Will Smith at first was hesitant about taking the role because he had already done Independence Day one year prior and didn't want to do another alien movie. He changed his mind and took the role and kicked ass.
Great movie! I have all 3 films and I just love them all. Never can figure out what my favorite one is. As far as the deleted and extended scenes for the first film I wouldn't bother. Not really much to see that couldn't be seen in the actual film. The making of the film is pretty cool though.
19:45 Of course ILM (Industrial Light and Magic) was involved. ...Time to do my yearly rewatch of all the ILM behind the scenes videos on RU-vid and marvel at how many films they've elevated. It's incredibly how many times I've loved a film and then found out later ILM helped on it.
I really wish Barry & the rest of the producers came back to make Men In Black 2, because while it wasn't terrible, it also wasn't great. Men In Black 2 was just meh. Men In Black 3 was tolerable with the exception of the final scene. Men In Black : International was just a joke.
Have you seen Men In Black The Animated Series? It's a Saturday morning cartoon based on the first MIB movie and it was on Kids WB every Saturday morning.
They did make Men in Black II. David Koepp didn’t return to write it like he did with part 1 and 3. Still I don’t think MIIB is nearly as bad as people say. Just my opinion.
