Constantly reading complaints from people who say Hollywood keeps having nothing but reboots and no original stories and then you have this man, this one of a kind director give us one of the most original movies I’ve ever seen and all people can talk about is that it’s not as good as Get Out🤦🏻♂️
Preach 🤝 For me, this is now my favorite Jordan Peele film. Every technical aspect that makes a great film, well, a great film is on display in spades here.
I don’t understand how some people don’t like the movie, even on the surface without thinking of elements, themes, and messages the movie and spectacle of it all was amazing
True. I walked out of the theatre confused and a bit disappointed that it wasn't "horror" but I still had a great feeling and high rating for it just because of what it was. The ending really had me on edge.
@@kim-sj5ol Ngl the fake alien scene when the last one popped out on him , it kinda jump scared me and when the first one appeared I had a small chill down the spine ; just imagine your alone outside in the dark and u just see a figure appear in the distance (and I laughed when he punched it cause I’d react the same way 😂)
Never gonna understand how people didn’t like this. I’ve seen it 9 times in theaters and it’s my favorite movie now. Jordan Peele created something so special with Nope, it’s phenomenal
Love this. The more i think and talk about this movie, the better it gets. I appreciate the angle Peele took with pushing his limits and trying new things
@@bevanmcnicholl2525 they had 2 cameras, one imax shooting the scene and the other is some infra camera that has a mirror that shots the same scene but in black and white for the color composites
Sometimes not doing 12 takes IS getting the moment. IOW you can rush it and get the moment. Nice that they had the budget and time to try things on this.
This movie was amazing! A manifestation of things that people wonder about. The Ship wasn’t a ship at all, but a territorial animal? MAN!!!! That’s deep!
the first experience was genuine shock and chills, only cause one of the scenes is based on true events. One of the best horror/sci fi films I've seen in a long time that was able to leave me thinking about it days later
Nope is one of the greatest science fiction movies of all time. It was something new, fresh, unique, inventive, stylish, cool, edgy, hip, and updated such as the concept and themes due to the story, performance's, music, images, astomphere, tension, performance's, ambition, direction, and cinematography. It was decent.😍👍💯😎
Nope was a loving tribute/homage to classic Spielberg, in particular Close Encounters Of The Third Kind and especially Jaws. So many brilliant Spielbergesque qualities to this movie, from the characters and music to the cinematography and old Hollywood 1950’s style visual effects with the UFO. But it also reminded me of classic Alfred Hitchcock. The way that Jordan Pelle builds tension and suspense in this film( as well as all his films)and the suspense and buildup is better than the payoff, just like Hitchcock used to do. Even touches in the film reminded me of classic Rod Serling era Twilight Zone in the vastness and scale and scope of the environment and focus on a small number of characters in a mysterious unusual situation throughout
Jordan Peele and Hoyte Van Hoytema pairing up is amazing. Throw in the great cast and production design and you have one hell of a movie. I just watched it for a 3rd time since it’s release and it gets better with each viewing… I’ve seen Oppenheimer 3 times in 6 weeks and rewatched Dunkirk & Tenet as well. That’s a lot of Van Hoytema and it’s awesome.. I think he’s my number 2 DP now, behind Roger Deakins of course 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🎥🎬🎞️
fun fact because Jordan Peele is a fan of Christopher Nolan’s work that is why he chose Hoyte Van Hoytema as his DP for this film Hoyte and Chris are frequent collaborators!!! i hope i can make a movie to this degree to impress y’all as Hoyte is personal fav DP and Christopher Nolan’s editor “Lee Smith” is my personal fav film editor I study their work as much as I can although I wanna be actor/writer/director it’s something about editing and cinematography that move me
This movie is bloody phenomenal, in many way's it is Jordan Peele's magnum opus in my opinion. Sure, it isn't an intimate psychological horror movie like Get Out, but that's just the thing, it isn't Get Out, it's NOPE. All of his movies are really unique and different to each other, but while still hitting similar undertones and themes/messages, and tbh I wish people would stop comparing everything to his first movie because it isn't really fair to pigeon hole him. This man is a creative force of nature, and every time he releases a movie I am really excited to check it out
Well tbh I loved his Big Job’s Specifically That he dont use A lot of Green screen as you can tho.. Its Just amazing how He Film even at Day Night, Thats why The Movie So Clean And good at night. 10/10
I can’t believe people didn’t like Nope. I have been studying Jordan’s films because he’s so talented. He’s a film genius, I hold Us as my favourite film. But this one is amazing too.
I just watched this film about a week ago. Automatically became one of my favorite movies ever. Maybe it’s because the brother-sister dynamic reminded me so much of my own (on the good days), so for me I was watching our two main characters with such an emotional connection. I was crying when the face off was happening, I could feel Ems helplessness for her brother, but then OJ being a badass telling her to look forward and let him handle business for a minute. And then she ends up ignoring it and getting JJs attention again which works out in the end. For a lot it may have seemed like a typical emotional scene necessary to have but for me it was such a realistic portrayal of two siblings that will die for each. Unconditional love in the face of spectacle won, they realized what was most important at the end. She was looking to OJ, didn’t even check the shot.
I really like it..he took the time to develop his characters..he also took the develop the suspense..reminds me of Hitchcock..or night shammen..and the actual acting was fantastic
Does anybody know the song that plays when Daniel, Jordan, and Keke talk about their characters? It’s around 4:50 it might not even be a real song but it sounds good tho.
The most alien Alien I have ever seen in an alien movie! it was truly surreal. Gonna give nightmares. When it opens up, its anatomy and biology is so mindbending and confusing. it's like a really messed up jellyfish which is airborne!
Great movie about how everyone has their own reasons for shooting the UFO. It's not about UFO vs humans or big battles and philosophy. It's just a simple story about UFO chasers. The aliens could have been done better but it ain't bad. Plus nice to see it was shot in IMAX film. Not sure why but digital looks cheap for some reason. Anyone know why film has a cinematic film digital does not?
kinda sad that we dont see the early 2000s style of making ofs where the crew and cast got to say what they actually wanted and everyone didn't feel like they had someone from marketing over their shoulder the whole time.
I really love this movie, including my mom! but I never understand many people actually got disappointed on this movie like, what? Haters be bashing good movies these days
Hey ya all, please help me understand: What is the message of this movie? It is very good crafted, but this is not the main reason why movies are made, right!? We all can agree upon the fact that movies are a form of communication. Since EVERY communication is sense driven, then we have to ask: What is the sense of the communication of this story? (I hope I have made myself clear.) Does anyone know for sure without any jokes? Thanks a lot! Bwt: English is my 3.rd language, so exacuse me when I am bad at it. :D
It could be about many things depending on what connects with you most. 1) Human understanding/misunderstanding nature is probably the main one 2) Siblings growing closer through trauma 3) Human desire to do anything that will get them famous, and as an extension of that 4) Hollywood's obsession with getting "the perfect shot."
@@carlotta4th You seem to be talking about interpretation. But no, I myself am writing scripts and I have learned that in order to do so, your script idea builds upon a message u want to convey, a message like: Truth has no expiration date. That's why I hard to make any sense out of this movie. It's a waste of money and resources, to me!
While people waste their money on shitty super hero movies or crappy Disney bullcrap, I waste my money on movies like these. What I like of Jordan Peele is how original he is. His movies are so creative that we have to see them multiple times to understand it. Even his movie titles are creative.
I thought it was a slow start, then really good and interesting in the middle, and then the last third seemed like they just didn’t know what to do and it made no sense. *spoiler alert***An alien was brought down with a ballon basically…and I still dunno how a monkey killing people tied into it.
the monkey was used to entertain people. when you overtrain animals, they lose control. Steven Yeun was basically doing the same thing with the UFO, training it to come out and entertain guests. but it failed and killed Yeuns character as well. the monkey represents the UFO, and OJ was the only one who can tame the UFO
I think the idea is how in todays world we always think we can control or tame a situation , and we tend to exploit everything we see for entertainment and don’t realize the consequences.
I don't care about the people who think this movie is good, but this movie absolutely sucked balls. One of the wrist movies I've ever seen, and a complete letdown from Jordan Peele since his previous movies were really good. But this whole alien thing and the decision to make the alien spaceship act the way it does and look so damn fake is just so low on the scale this movie should have been with the budget they had for this film. Such a let down. My 5 year old could have drawn and come up with a better alien ship. It made it so non believable to me and was just cheesy. Oh no, if you don't look at the alien ship it won't eat you, but if you look at it then it's going to eat you man.
The looking it gets you don't look it won't is about the fact this movie is about a skeptical and us trying to capture that. If you're not into metaphors and hidden meanings then yeah I'm sure it wasn't for you but to be fair the acting and CGI was not cheap this movie (besides the actual spaceship) was practical af
