Mike i have to say man that you have truly been an inspiration for me. Thanks to your Superman vs Hulk animation when i 1st saw it about 4-5 years ago, that inspired me to get into 3D Animation my self! Now i'm 25 going to 26 and i am finishing my Bachelors for Animation in a small school in Puerto Rico (Carribean, US territory). About 5 years ago i had messaged you asking about your video and animation and that really caught my interest where i then researched all i could about animation for almost a year after that. Looking back your animation came at a great time for me because, at the time i was still not 100% decided on what i actually wanted to do. I have to say man, thank you very much for your dedication to your craft, i hope to one day be able improve my own skills and maybe even inspire someone as well. Cheers!!! - Jerry
If you make animation videos, just don't make your audience wait at least 9 years to finish a video. The people who saw Mike's Superman vs Hulk The Meeting video in December of 2010, little did they know that it'd be 9 years later to the month with still no ending.
@@Steveman27 wtf man? You're the type of guy who thinks this is done using windows movie maker or what? Show some respect for these short films, which require a shit ton of work
Great to see more drafts, Mike. Keep 'em coming. Can never get enough of your work. If you ever get to a point where the Hulk reverts back to Banner, it'd be a great tribute to make it Bixby's David Banner.
Your miniseries is absolutely amazing and exciting to watch. I only wish that there were more fight scenes like this from DC and Marvel. Please keep it up and thank you. PS; Hulk's muscular symmetry is outstanding!
Nice alternate version. Would love to see and hear more about your process. Type of software used, technique, time frames, work alone or have help? Example: Was the sky and ground animated by you or some type of stock earth?
I so want to start a petition to get Mike Habjan to make Superman II Ultimate Cut. And have him create all the action sequences for Donner's ultimate cut for Superman II. And feature Superman Vs the 3 supervillains in Metropolis after viewing Mike's videos in honor of Christopher Reeve. Or feature the scripted scenes of the 3 Phantom zone villains taking over the world in a montage sequence (S2's 1977 shooting script). My mind just boggles at what could be possible for that film nearly 40 years later after viewing Mike's awesome; Superman Vs Hulk videos.
Incredible. I'd like to know what software he uses and what training he's had. A lot of Hollywood movies don't have this kind of quality. Also, will there be a full version of this at some point?
Animation by Michael Habjan, created with Autodesk Maya 2009, composited and edited in Adobe After Effects CS3. Music done with Propellerhead Reason 5.
this was Maya 2013 and Nuke. and edited with Sony Vegas, training about 20 years of drawing, couple years of college courses with one dedicated to 3d animation, a few years working in the industry and just practicing any spare time I have, trying out new things, sometimes youtube tutorials
thanks..yes the graphics are all myself.. and I actually did do some cloth sim work on the CG doubles on Dr. Strange couple years ago you can see my name there in the credits under 'ILM digital artists' among hundreds of others
If he gets hired to work on movies, he would slow everything way down. He's take over a decade to finish what others would take only a year to finish. He would be fired in no time.
perhaps in 10 years or so after he has hung up the cape but for now he's still around to play him so I won't be able to portray him better than he does already. i have attempted a Cavill face model but it needs more work
He has used a different style for Hulk in each of the videos. For Part 4 he used Lou Ferrigno as his model but without the ugly wig he wore in the series.
I bet that he will make a better "mustache remover effect" than the lunatic budged of millions for the worst CGI facial hair remover "of course is no Calvin faults best man of steel ever ! :)
(vk.com/topic-39603836_37594423)
Come on dude. Enough with the various drafts of the essentially same thing. If it's a making of, give us hows. Is it Cloth systems? animated normals? Blendshapes? Actual information. I feel I've just been watching the same thing for the past 5 videos and none the wiser as to how to achieve the standard. Any actual making of videos would be a huge draw. Please bro, stop fucking about.. help a brother out.
I suggest not watching my videos then with the word 'Draft' in titles there are a few more.. i will probably do a "Making of .. The Character Rigs" i suppose if you're interested but it's really simple basic stuff. Simple character rig, high polygon models skinned to joints, face blendshapes for face expressions and body blendshape correctives for sculpting proper anatomy deformations especially in the shoulder areas.. Superman's cape is cloth simmed, Hulks hair is simmed, and it's just all just key frame animated.. I don't really use normal maps
