As you know, my design style is constantly evolving and I’m always switching up my décor! This past week, I decided to make some changes to my living room and dining room. What started off as a little fire place mantle DIY turning into a pretty big refresh. I wasn’t planning on doing much to the dining room…until I found the most amazing vintage dining table that I had to have. What do you think of the refresh!

I feel this is a shift from makeover/tutorial style to more of a storytelling style while still being able to follow how you do things. I really love it. The video feels like a cozy afternoon in my favorite coffee shop somehow (its been a while seeing one from the inside ;-)), nice!

Since the fireplace isn't used, a metalic paint on the inside (I like Chagne gold), would be beautiful...and would reflect piller candles 😊

I would say, as a 1920s purist, there is likely amazing brick under the decades of layers of paint just waiting to be uncovered. Classic, period appropriate fireplaces in well preserved historic homes are just stunning. Would be amazing to have the paint stripped and see what historic treasures lay underneath. For instance, Batchelder fireplaces made from Batchelder tiles right here in Pasadena are worth a lot nowadays and are so beautiful, and a piece of history!

The space feels very hygge. Just enough items to have comfort without feeling like you’re swimming in stuff. A place where you could really relax and also have wonderful moments with close friends.

When the new table first showed on the screen I said out loud, "OH. MY. GOD." That is one of the most gorgeous tables I've seen in a long time!! I'm also a person who is constantly evolving with my personal style. This summer, I'll be doing an entire kitchen reno on a kitchen I just built 4 years ago. Sometimes, things look great in our mind, but then when we express them in real life, they're not as fulfilling as we expected; that's what happens to me, anyway.

Wow, the fireplace looks great! If my fireplace looked like yours, I'd also rub just some very, very minimal touches of a dark copper or antique bronze rub and buff type wax randomly here and there on the edges of the line design surrounding the fireplace opening, just to catch the tiniest glints of light. The new dining room table is fierce. So glad your back! Wishing you a Happy New Year!

Love that idea. Would play welll with all of the beautiful copper colors throughout the space. I would LOVE to see the raised design at the top (Art Neauveau or Celtic pattern) burnished with a metallic copper also. It's such a stunning detail and wants to really pop!

For your type of channel it makes sense that you are always going to be redecorating your home, it's what your channel is about after all. Most people might not do it this frequently but I think there is also a charm about seeing how many times you can change the same space, even if it's just a little bit. It will always keep your house from becoming stale.

It’s all beautiful. That color on the dining room book case is just spectacular, I’m glad you’ve kept it. The table is a real statement, I love the refectory table look and the Hitchcock type chairs look perfect. The black fireplace really balances the black window frames. I only wish I could uncover the original design on the front. I love that it becomes more of a fireplace in black. Good move to stain the raw cane on the console, it was too yellow. That apartment is just so beautiful, the layout, the architectural detail, the light, and your decor.

Welcome back! I LOVE it all!! The light rug in the dining room perfectly sets off your gorgeous ‘new’ table! It allows it to be seen, if that makes sense. The rig marries the white walls with the dark table and darkish shelves wall. like the addition of the painted door in the DR. That wall is so nicely balanced. Gorgeous room! The black fireplace was the right choice! All of the subtle changes are perfect! You are an inspiration to me with everything that you do!
