Making Pancakes with Cerebral Palsy 

I don't have cerebral palsy, but that's roughly how I flip pancakes too.

Everything tastes better when it's cooked with love.

Flipping pancakes is tough even without cerebral palsy. Those look good, now I want pancakes!

Dang, I can't even begin to describe how adorable you are.

You know....I love how you can laugh about it when you have those little slip-up moments like you had here. Sometimes I'll go flying through my house in this wheelchair at about 80 miles an hour and have a high speed crash into a door frame. All I can do is laugh about it....and put a band-aid on my new injury....and repaint the door frame. Ah well, at least I haven't rolled out into traffic yet. Tim L.

Came across this on reddit today. Wholesome video Thanks! My husbands son has CP and we have always been terrified of letting him use hot pans/griddles due to the fear he will get burnt. Thanks to you I'm not so scared anymore and tomorrow we are going to try and make pancakes too!

You truly are an inspiration for other people, whether they have cerebral palsy or not, great job with testing your own limitations. I have spastic hemiplegic cerebral palsy and I must say that you are such a great person who is willing to try to do new things even when you have physical limitations because of having cerebral palsy.

Nice job! I am in Occupational Therapy school and we are doing a presentation in class tomorrow on CP and are planning on showing this video. There is an adaptive spatula that if you squeeze the handle it will flip- it would be very educational to see you try making pancakes again with the adapted tool and if it actually does work like it's intended to. Thank you for sharing your life with us so that we can better learn to help those in need through Occupational Therapy!

I have a waring pro breakfast express Belgium waffle and omelet maker. The omelet side I put my pancake mix in, close the lid then just flip the maker over. It's really easy and fun. It flips the pancakes for you.

I've seen people without CP do alot worst - you go girl!!! I'm so glad you post these -- such a strong person you are --- absolutely proud of you !!! ...and Chocolate Chips are healthy - they have milk in them and are plant based from cocoa --- sooooo.... keep cooking --- love your sense of humor !

They looked yummy. I like powdered sugar on my chocolate chip pancakes. I don't have ataxia or CP and I have had all problems flipping pancakes you just had. I do mine in a frying pan so I have the side of the pan to stop the pancake from sliding.

You did well for your first time. Next time, try holding the spatula in your hand in the same way that you'd grab a doorknob, and you'll see that the center of gravity's easier to manage, thus making the pancake easier to flip, single or double handed :-)
